I think Charles in Charge is a classic.
Also as a side not for you Today Special fans, the actress that played Jodie went on to be a news anchor for CBC news, I dont think she is still there anymore, but she had that gig for years and years after the show ended.

Yes I love all those old showsAnyone who grew up in the Calgary area should remember the Buck Shot Show. I was on it when I was 5, it was the coolest moment of my life, or so I thought at the time. I also loved Ghostbusters too, there were only 4 people in my kindergarten class (small, small town) and we played Ghostbusters every recess!

There was one show I used to watch that for some strange reason I loved but I cannot remember the name of it. There was a witch who would always concot a brew and she'd throw all sorts of things into it, I remember she'd always put butter in it (don't ask) .. there was also a Werewolf D-Jay (I believe it was a werewolf) and when he would play music there would be weird looking guy (maybe the werewolf? - can't remember) dancing really stange with the cheesiest background & the cheesiest dance moves. ... There may even have been an old guy with a creepy/scary voice - can't totally remember and maybe I'm thinking of something else.
Anyway, like I said, I used to love that show and would watch it all the time. I was only 5 or 6 at the time so it would have been around 1982 but was probably around earlier than that. If anyone can figure out what show I'm talking about, I'd love to know the name. It would be funny to see if I could look it up and watch it again just for laughs |

This thread is making me miss Canada! Americans didnt get most of the abovementioned show and my husband has no idea what Im talking about.
I used to watch some show called Magic Ring..anyone else watch it?

Samantha Taylor. Her wardrobe was always sponsored by that store called Le Chateau. Are those still around?

I also watched Inspector Gadget, the Racoons, and Teddy Ruxpin. ..and some other show where the boy would try to save things and he'd keep a lil small bear (i think it was a bear) in his pocket as he was trying to save things or fight off the bad guys. No idea what it's called.

I also used to watch Reading Rainbow with that guy from startrek. Others that i used to watch that haven't been mentioned, were Mr. Wizard (Anyone remember the time they went to calaway park to test the speed of rides!), Where in the world is Carmen Sandiago (sp?), oh and my favorite, the Gummy bears bouncing here and there and everywhere (I always wanted to have that potion they made, and to be able to ride on that log track they had).

Your post got me singing the theme song to that show:

"Well she sneaks around the world from Kiev to Carolina,
She's a sticky-fingered something (no idea what they say there) from Berlin down to Belize,
She'll take you for a ride on a slow boat to China,
Tell me where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?

She goes from Nashville to Norway, Bonaire to Zimbabwe,
Chicago to Czechoslovakia and back"

Thats the only part I actually remember! Im such a dork

Someone mentioned Voyager - loved that show. Great premise and really well done. Was it called Voyager though?
The guy that was on Voyager was also on a program about spies. I think it was Cover-Up. He shot himself in the head accidently though with what was supposed to be a blank gun.

On the sci-fi front - there was a TV adaptation of the movie Starman that was really well done. It didn't last.

There was a ninja based show called The Master that I loved. Dude kept a hamster in his van - how cool is that? Well when you're a kid its pretty darn cool

And for some reason when I think of obscure 80s TV "It's Your Move" with Jason Bateman always comes to mind.

Edit: It was called "Voyagers" and in fact is available on DVD - gold!

G-Force! Good call.

Keyop. The robot was Zark ( I believe) - to google!
Wikipedia article
Strange, I remember the show called G-Force, but I remember the characters with the "Battle of the Planets" name.
(and yes - pre cable. Just outside London Ont I could see CFPL (a CBC affiliate), CKCO (CTV), TVO and, if the rabbit ears were just right, Global)

No, sorry it wasn't street cents.
It had the 3 teams of 2, kind of like the show newlyweds where one kid would leave and then would have to guess what the other said.
