Just going through the comments on the pregame festivities. Some of you are dislike theatrics.
Didn't watch it live, but that looked fun, amusing, energetic, and entertaining. They go all out, which gets the crowd engaged. It's great to see when everyone else does the same ole, bland routine.
No kidding. It's as if some have seen their first playoff pre-game. Especially funny are those that hope the Flames would never stoop so low and put on theatrics of their own
I figure you didnt see the earlier comments. Some on here complained that the Vegas intro was cheesy and not hockey like and would not go to flames games if they did their own shows. I just pointed out that the Flames and all other teams do that.

No I’m all in on the ther comments, the Vegas intros are ridiculous! And sooooooo long. I almost find them comical in their Vegasness. Playing videos of the team on the big screen with clips of fans and pump up music is not comparable to actors performing some silly thing on the ice, bringing out famous announcers to introduce everyone on the ice, etc etc.

Different strokes......just change the channel and save us the comments. Same for the "bad" announcers and anthem singers. Not directed at you specifically, but man does the internet bring the worst in downers, always find something to put down.

Almost forgot...bad camera men. Gotta hear about those too.

I mean... I mostly agree with you on the negativity. But are you going to submit a list for us on what we can discuss on this hockey board?
That will probably read more inflammatory than intended. But these things are going to be discussed here and there are no problems with it.

No I am not. Just saying that some here get so worked up over little things. Don't like the intro? Fine, doesn't mean you have to voice it. Some opinions are best left in your head. Or at least don't dramatize it like you wouldnt go to a game if your team did that etc. Just such silly stuff.
I see this at work a lot. Get some document and people just pick it apart like it's some garbage. Someone worked hard on it, show some respect.

I’m somehow midday out of thanks, but these are all good points. Especially your last one.

those shows are more for the people in attendance anyways, they don't translate so good to TV.
speaking of TV, they said on Fan this morning that last night's game had like a 44 local share...that's nearly half of all TVs in the Vegas area tuned into a hockey game, with summer around the corner and the temperature outside already in the mid 30's. good work, new hockey fans. you will know the pain the rest of us feel someday but for now, do what Lil Jon says and keep the party going and the shots flowing.
I for one have been on the Vegas bandwagon all year. They really nailed it with their expansion team. From their name and their ceremonies (which are totally Vegas and suited to the city; know your audience!) to the way they used the expansion draft to build a team that was also suited to the city and the coach. The only thing I don't really like about the team is their mascot because he's fugly. He is hilarious on twitter though so it evens out a bit.
Honestly though, the expansion draft in a cap league is way different than an expansion draft in a non-cap league. Team who are making players eligible had to look at way more factors and Vegas won when they scored Fleury and Neal. Now, I am firmly in the camp of Fleury being streaky and hit or miss but he has and can win championships and he will again. However, his experience is undeniable and he is a key component of their success.
They also play exciting hockey. They're always the first to the puck, they hit hard, they play hard and they WANT to win. I haven't seen a Flames team do that in over a decade.
We SHOULD be jealous. They have assembled a very fine team. They have a great coach, a great GM, a great facility, a great jersey, a great name and HEART.
Also, I hope Ovi's Calder keeps him warm at night and that the closest he gets to a Stanley Cup is when they bring it out for the Knights.

I know it's early, but Vegas just seems like it's going to be a success. Winning trumps everything , but even when they have some tougher times I feel like they will always fill that arena. Locals or tourists, doesn't matter.
Did Columbus or Nashville have much buzz around them? To me they were just a bump on the road for team in their first few years.

So critical to have a good inaugural season to set your franchise up for success. I think this is the driving factor behind the new expansion draft format.

Couldn't agree more with the points above.
I too, want to see Fleury and a dominating Vegas team win the cup. That would mean a threepeat for Fleury. #1 Overall draft pick reinforcing that he has what it takes to win.
I'm just glad that I get to experience so many miracle runs in sports history over the last few years. Vegas, Leicester City, Chicago Cubs, American Pharoah. It's been a great decade for all sports and I hope it keeps going in this direction.

When the national religion of football comes to town, I think things will be different. Americans crave NFL.
The Avs won the Cup in their first year, but fan interest waned during their slump years, and Denver is a "traditional" market. I suspect the same will happen when Vegas isn't doing well.
