The team had people on staff to help out, but it was nice for the players and their families to have another hockey family available who knows the area. Someone made a joke about the Engellands acting as Concierges for the new players.
That was why they felt it was important to claim Engelland in the expansion draft and get him signed right away rather than waiting the week and a half to just sign him on July 1.
Sure, that may have been different had the Flames had someone more exciting available, but we all knew that the timing of the expansion worked out well for the Flames this time. In two or three years, with Seattle, they probably won't be so lucky.

This is the thing, the way Vegas has gone about treating their players they have developed a really tight knit sense of community around the team and its paying huge dividends.
These guys arent just a collection of unwanted castoffs, they're like a family now and they're going to war for each other.
Thats what you need in the playoffs.

I'm going to be watching it outside on my patio.
I like being able to watch a game in the afternoon with a drink outside on my deck. That being said, its potentially an elimination game so that will generate some interest.

I don't know if anyone recalled but the Jets were predicted by most to finish at the bottom of the central here. They generally speaking weren't expected to do well either. This year has been gravy so far and if the season ends tomorrow its an overwhelming success for a season to make the west final.

Yeah but Vegas is just a much cooler story. Pretty much everything about Vegas and their team and story is cooler than the Jets.
Even most of Canada appears to be "meh" at this point about the airplanes (as opposed to the Leafs when they were still in it), and even leaning towards the expansion heroes. That or summer, which is just more appealing for a number of reasons.

You know I live in Calgary too right? Literally no one I've met is cheering for Vegas. I don't care if you cheer for the Jets, but this post is absolutely hilarious.

Not a promising start. Again, ####ty passes, blind passes, and an early penalty. Guh. It's like this team is in our heads.

Hahah what did the Jets expect to happen exactly turning over the puck over and over and over?
Eventually you are going to have to outwork the Knights in the first ten minutes if you expect to win.
Kulikov looks terrible.
