Fox News is already blaming everything but the guns. Bullying, video games, even political correctness - they're playing all the hits to distract the base.

Essentially, we will have the same national laws that Canada does and gun control will be removed from the state level. Anyone who says their 2nd ammd rights are infringed upon will get one (1) free muzzle loaded musket to use in case militia are needed to protect the state from foreign invaders or a tyrannical government. The 2nd ammd doesn't say jack #### about guns for home defense.
What he will say is, of course, the opposite.

And when they adopt Canadian style laws and it doesn't really do much?
FWIW, guns in Canada aren't regulated like cars.

Oh gee, I don't know...how about something about implementing common sense gun reform?
Of course Trump, the GOP, and the NRA won't even have the conversation, let alone craft any meaningful legislation. As has already been mentioned several times in this thread, the Sandy Hook situation pretty much ended the gun debate in the U.S.

The long term consequences of having so many people directly experience murder, and so many more being aware of the threat of it, will be devastating. As if the routine murder of innocents wasn’t bad enough, we know what exposure to violence does to young people.

Personally I think you can have any gun you want but actually have to be in a state regulated militia attend drill meeting 3 or 4 nights a week, attend excersises at least one weekend out of the month and do 2 weeks training in the field at your own cost per year, like the national guard, get some weight of the fat slobs at the same time it weeds out the numpties

If you want to buy a gun you've got to take a bullet.
And the type of bullet is defined by the type of gun you want.
You need to know sir what it feels like to be on the other side of the gun so you'll be responsible when you have the gun, so just let me get some towels and some gauze and we'll get this over with.

Texas mayor slams Congress: "Spare us your thoughts and prayers and do your job"
Apparently that comment from the mayor of Dallas trying to get some action going angered some Americans

I am pretty sure prayer is pretty important as well.. why not both? Think before you speak.

Prayer is essential during this time because it’s only God who can save us. Try to show a little compassion and respect for the injured and their families.

Just reading about one of the suspects. I'm pretty disturbed by the fact his profile was very similar to that of the Parkland shooter -- he was into white power and Nazism.

The US needs a war where all privately held guns and ammunition need to confiscated for the war effort. That's probably the only thing Americans would get behind is some patriotic effort to help the troops.
Even if the guns are no good, just take them anyway and melt them down. Nobody needs to know.

If they adopt Canadian style laws and 1 life is saved from gun violence, it was worth it.
And how are guns in Canada not regulated like cars?
If you want to drive a car, you need a license.
If you want to own & use a gun, you need a license.
If you want to drive something specialized like motorcycle or semi-truck, you need a special license.
If you want to own & use a restricted gun like an AR-15, you need a special license.
If you are going to comeback and nitpick the argument that guns are regulated exactly like cars, well then you are just like the gun nuts who scream an AR-15 isn't an assault rifle. Semantics matter!

The AR-15 is restricted by name. If it was classified by the guidelines set out in law, it would be non-restricted (other than barrel and OAL limits).
The better comparison would be the government saying that you need a special license to buy a Honda, even though it works exactly like many other cars, you need that license because it's a Honda.
The "assault rifle" debate is pointless, because if you consider the AR to be an assault rifle, then pretty much every other semi-auto rifle would fall into that same category.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick says there are too many entrances and exits to schools, and that is why shootings are able to happen. "Had there been one single entrance possibly for every student, maybe he would have been stopped.".*
lol... also, human beings are way to fleshy and fragile... if we had thicker skin, the survival rate during these mass shootings would be much higher... /s
can't fight stupid.
