So it's not fun being down, but this is also the first time the Jets have trailed this post season so I can't complain. Friday is a must win as far as I'm concerned. Tie it up and the series is a best of 3 with 2 in the phone booth. I feel like Winnipeg is absolutely as big a hand as Vegas is in the losses so far, especially with the unforced errors. Last night replayed 100 times in a Jets win 99 times. Brutal unforced error by Scheif in the 1st to a breakaway, and, then Helley giving it away again unforced behind the net. on top of the top Fleury stood on his head.. last night really was a missed chance to take back control of this series.
It's going to be a long day and a half until game 4, but I have faith the good guys are going to even this up and get things back on track.

I think the point is that they didn't get the majority of their roster by just taking players in the expansion draft. Other GMs had to proactively give them these players, presumably because they thought they'd be better off doing so. They were wrong.

Or maybe Vegas went full prevent mode after taking a lead? I would not read much into that third period.

Hellebuyck needs to better. Second game in a row he looks lost.

I thought the narrative around Vegas was they never go prevent mode?

He must have something to do with them then. I remember seeing a video during a game where they said Marchessault told him he liked it and Vince Neil told him to take it for the afternoon.

My 10 year old daughter tells me half the kids at school are Vegas fans. She calls them bandwagoners and mocks them.

Bandwagoner = get to continue enjoying awesome playoff hockey no matter what team remains
Non-Bandwagoner = sit around from April to August with the TV off, nothing to do but cry about how poorly the Flames played after the trade deadline

I don’t think that never is the word used, they typically don’t. Full credit to the Jets for dominating that 3rd period, but one has to wonder how that period plays out if they don’t score off the opening faceoff. That was a huge momentum swing, but it didn’t come from breaking the VGN, it was a set play off the opening faceoff. They miss that chance and the doubt sets in with every passing minute. Would they push as hard then?
The Jets need to control their emotions to start game 4, if they over commit to attacking they will get burned. That’s how Vegas plays, they pounce on turnovers. After that 3 period it will be tough to convince the Jets players to be less aggressive.

There’s a difference between enjoying good hockey and actively become a “fan” of a team because they are good. If a team is great kids will like them and Vegas is very likeable so no problem there. As a passionate Flames fan I could never actively cheer for any other team like I do for the flames, even if they are playing a team I hate. I don’t know how people have “second” teams, that just doesn’t make sense for me. Maybe it’s because I’ve grown up in a soccer family with intense loyalties but I could never cheer for another hockey team with the same passion as I do for the flames.
Maybe I take sports too seriously, but I still think people in Calgary who are from and live in Calgary who wear Knights jerseys are tools and bandwagon jumpers. I don’t care if you’ve been a fan from the beginning, don’t come back to the Flames whenever they decide to become decent again.

I don't know what the appeal is, but I noticed this when they played the Flames. Seemed like half the fans cheering for them were under 13yrs old, which was weird.

This is what happens when the local team does nothing and there's a shiny new toy out there. As a teenager, I remember being so disgusted with classmates and friends that suddenly became Avs fans in 1995. Or Devils fans. Guess what? In 2004, everyone forgot their shiny new toy and became Flames fans again. Our team needs to start winning. Or at least inspiring.

They both saw it at the practice rink.

Half the kids in a Calgary elementary aren't cheering for the remaining team from the prairies.
Not a good sign.

I encourage them not to be Flames fans, save a life of heartache and disappointment.
I'm trapped, it's too late for me, but the kids can save themselves.

Ya I am with you on this. I think the Jets gave them everything they could offer, MAF made a full leaping dive save right after making a ten bell save, the Jets were absolutely all over them.
Closing out the Sharks in Game 6 they I didn't see the Knights go in "prevent mode" in the third period.
Jets got back to back periods getting 16 shots on goal, i feel that doesn't happen very often to the Knights in their own barn. Full marks to Vegas for the first period but after that the Jets took over.

They did in game 2 of this series too. Chip it off the glass and out. Of course last night was different because the Jets had way more life in them, but Vegas does play the clock from time to time.

I'm a Flames fan through and through. But when they are out and another team grows on me in the POs, yeah, I will cheer for them. Or I will cheer a team that plays a team I don't want to win. Vegas checks both boxes for me.
Plus, as a new expansion team, Vegas has a bit of charm. I think people were ready to cheer them on as a secondary team as "lovable losers". The Sharks got a bit of that.
