My daughter is a Jets season ticket holder and split the games with others during the regular season to save money like a lot of their ticket holders. I imagine playoff tickets are pretty expensive for most people no matter where but I'm betting that in Winnipeg a lot of people are running low on cash supporting their team.

Pretty sad that prices are so high a place like Winnepeg can't sell out the west finals. Canadian teams gauging their fans as usual.

Taking a while to get to 5000
|
The day of the last game I saw on Ticketmaster that lower bowl seats were available from $497 to $697.
Pricey, but I have no idea how that compares to the other cities (haven't looked them up yet).

Do you not remember how Fleury was playing prior to a couple seasons ago? There is no mystery here.

Maybe this is a weird way of "bracing" the fanbase for the Jets's looming free agent armageddon? Lowry, Armia, Trouba, Enstrom, Morrissey (ELC) and Hellebuyck are due this summer, and then Laine (ELC), Connor (ELC) and Myers in 2019. NHL hockey in the MTS Centre in Winnipeg was always going to be a balancing act: the Jets are already among the most expensive tickets in the League, but with one of the lowest payrolls. How much is that going to change in the next two years? How will the Winnipegers respond?

Enstrom is gone unless he takes a bargain contract. Myers as well. The Jets have been planning for these upcoming RFA's going forward, as well as more prospects ready to go. I don't see the major issue unless they pull a Edmonton.

I wouldn't pay over $400 plus insane fees making it probably $500 for single ticket in the second deck. A lot of Winnipeggers are probably thinking like I am too to be frank, that why I pay so much to see Vegas in the west finals when there's a really good chance that Jets will be in the Stanley Cup Final. That's not necessarily hubris, but realistically the Jets are the favorite in this series and I have no interest in spending mortgage payment on a pair of tickets.
I wouldn't exactly sweat it either if I was true north, having a couple hundred singles available. The Jets have years of season tickets sold out, and a very very long waiting list that probably just grew.

That probably would be the prices we'd end up paying in Calgary if the Flames made it to the Conference Finals.
Wasn't it like 300+ for a lowerbowl seat in 2015 for the first round?

You think the Jets are getting everything they need done with the same $70 m player payroll? This is just thew cycle that every team enters when they achieve success, but the big difference in Winnipeg being that they have to pay for it in the smallest arena in the NHL.

Not according to the oddsmakers. Most are picking Vegas over the Jets.

don't bother buying tickets for the Jets first ever trip the conference finals, because you need to save the money for Stanley Cup finals...haha. the hockey gods will smite you so good for that, and it's going to be awesome.

Yes, because sports betting has everything to do with the expected outcome and not at all with where people are putting their money.
Of course, I could be a rich man by now by simply picking the opposite of what you have so far

That's weird being a Canadian market and a small arena. You think season ticket holders would have them mostly sold out then resale market would price out other fans that wanted to attend. Ottawa West.

Not sure on other spots but my Vegas season tickets for the West Final are $340 USD at the door. I am second row of the second level in the corner, so its an NHL thing when it comes to gouging for playoffs.

The same oddsmakers had Oilers as one of the favorites for the Stanley Cup coming into the season.
I can only assume a lot of money is coming in for the hometown team.
So I guess going forward we can’t use Vegas and oddsmakers synonymously can we?

I'm in section 118 tonight and paid about $320 USD per seat. Kind of stupid for a non Flames game, but I'm excited to see a knights game and I expect to waste some money when in Vegas.

I expect as much, but are the flood of Vegas betters any less arbitrarily biased as those proclaiming the Jets to be the "realistic favourites" in this series? A series which shifts back to Las Vegas with the teams tied?

Knights earned the split and are now bringing the game back to Vegas where they absolutely dominate.
Winnipeg could be in trouble here.

Vegas is a slight favourite to win the series (-115) but obviously I expect Winnipeg to split here and they should be back to being the favourite.
