Sure only if it's obvious should the refs look at the big screen or Toronto calls and they sound the horn.

But what does 'obvious' mean? It is only high sticking vs puck calls? Slashing vs puck calls? Hooking/Diving?

It's not always going to be and that line creeps closer and closer to grey areas of interpretation.
I can appreciate the fear of the never ending slippery slope, and how obvious is clear to my own opinion but is way too subjective. All that being said I don't believe that there is anyone anywhere that thinks that the call in this game was correct. That to me defines obvious.

How the announcers think a goal by Washington evens everything up after a terrible call shows how dumb the NHL truly is.

Burakovsky had a great point shot set up instead spins and shoots into a bunch of sticks and kills the play. I expected better from that player.

The kind of depth the Flames really need. No more fossils of Stajan and Brouwer plugging things up

This is what Kunitz is without the Croz, a mucker.

Kunitz still has one of if not the most punchable face in the NHL.

We had a guy like them once (Chiasson). also re-affirms where I think Ferland should be on a contending team.

As expected in this game, Lightning get away with a blatant high stick

And SNET too oblivious to show it, when bad reffing is a clear storyline in this game.

Yup, instead they go with the "sell job" by Holtby.

It was as bad as a soccer dive - even though i realize the puck hit Hedman.

Kypreos is wrong, and there were 2 examples in the NHL during games where there was a reversal by looking up at the scoreboard were presented at the intermission. The precedent has already been set

there's zero subjectivity to that call: Oshie's stick was no where even close to Hedman's face...

a five year old could tell you that stick didn't hit Hedman based off one look at that replay

Yeah, if the Caps can hang with TB without their #1 center. Wait until he comes back there announce team. Backstrom alone will make 64% F/O advantage for the Bolts disappear real quick.

Didn't employ Chiasson properly, though. Tried to force him onto the top line RW which was a massive failure (interestingly, DSP has been used in a similarly mostly unsuccessful way for the Caps)

Kuznetsov should have passed. Drew three defenders to him so Eller was open

I'd put him on the second PP unit. Skating well with a goal and a high-danger chance. Has that extra jump in his step
