Could they have been swept up in the VGK excitement? Rooting for their hometown team instead of their wallets? Or is Vegas just statistically looking good to win this?

Jets in 6. The fact that they took Nashville to 7 and beat them just says something.

Odds at this stage have a lot less to do with which team is more likely to win, and a lot more to do with which team has more money placed on them already. It is a mathematically derived number and nothing more. The bookies rarely lose especially when they have time to balance their risk.
Winnipeg is a small fan base and would likely have a lot less fan money behind them right now, whilst the average hockey/sport fan could be inclined to get wrapped up in Vegas fever and place a non-proffesional bet on them.

Tldr, the bookies are trying to get some money on Winnipeg to offset the liability that they are carrying on Vegas.

Went to game 3 and 4 in San Jose, should be able to hit up at least a game in Winnipeg this series. Go Knights!

Jets are favoured now at 3.30, Tampa Bay at 3.50 is second. This is all early money, i wonder what sort of injuries will show up before game 1 in both series.

Vegas is outmatched in every area.

Jets in 5

If Vegas wins I’ll throw up my hands and walk out a la Seinfeld.gif, and just accept that they’re a team of destiny and that it can’t be explained

It’s not the fans in Vegas I have an issue with, it’s all the bandwagon loser fans they’ve got. Most of the ones I know are casual hockey fans at best but are suddenly all about the Vegas Golden Knights and act all high and mighty. They just want attention and it’s ridiculous and annoying.

Knew where Propagandhi was from, didn't know about The Killers. Cool beans!

I mean is there a better punk act in the world right now?

Vegas has that whole team of destiny, pull the sword out of the rock when no one else can kind of feel.

I have a feeling that this one comes down to goaltending more then anything else. Also the Jets are going to get very little recovery time.
