New Halo 3 Commercial!
I was poking around YouTube today, and stumbled across this gem:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zu1Jd...elated&search=
That's right, ladies and gentlemen. Bungie is finally starting their advertising campaign for Halo 3 - meaning we'll be seeing the third and final installment of our favorite Covenant bashing trilogy in stores sometime in the near future.
They even went as far as to tease us with a glimpse at John's childhood prior to becoming a Spartan in this trailer. I'm even more excited to get my hands on that little personal force field that he uses. I could totally get into trouble with a few of those things in my grasp...
Here's another one to get oogle over:

I haven't heard any plans for releasing it on the standard Xbox. I suspect it'll be 360 only, and will be the sole reason I go out and buy one.

A friend of mine's husband works for Microsoft and apparently has been playing Halo 3 on the 360 for 2 weeks now. I guess it was released internally to employees well before it even hit the public release radar. I actually thought my friend was making this up before I saw this ad just now. I would have expected much more hype if it was this close to being market ready, and heavily pushed to be released before christmas. Interesting.

I wouldn't imagine its due for close to a year or so.
And if theres one thing you can count on, its that they'll have a huge marketing campaign.
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places
Worn out faces
.....Gears of war much?

Yeah I doubt it's anywhere close to release. They are building the hype early. This will be one of the most hyped video games of all time, just like Halo 2 was.

Yeah I wasn't expecting it for another year-ish either, but according to my friend, she's being grossly neglected by her husband because he keeps playing Halo 3 with his buddies in Washington. She assured me it was actually Halo 3, as opposed to Gears of war. Who knows? I told her if she could get me a copy of it, I would be willing to do anything. That's right, anything...

That's just the way Bungie rolls, though. Halo for the PC was delayed. Halo 2 was delayed. I suspect Halo 3 will be delayed as well. Fine with me, though, because I'd rather have a late masterpiece than an early stinker.

They released a beta sign up for yesterday Dec. 4 only. And then they will choose out of the most likely thousands of people to play halo 3 beta on xboxlive. If you see anyone playing "Pimps at Sea" that means theyre playing halo 3 beta. The commercial looks soo good! I like how they had real child actors in it. That shows what they could possibly do with the Halo movie, if they ever get a contract.

I actually don't enjoy Halo that much... A great ball of hype if you ask me. I do like what they did with online in Halo 2 though. But I just can't get into the story, or characters at all.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. In mine, it is one of the best video game series I have ever played.

And the most over-hyped, under delivering game series is back. Why would a commercial come out at this time? The game is AT LEAST 6 months away from release. I'm not overly excited though. It is a top notch series but not worthy of the "OMG Best game series Evar!11!" hype bestowed upon it. A few years ago when Halo 2 came out I played Resident Evil 4 (Cube), God of War (PS2) and Halo 2 (xbox) back-to-back-to-back over the course of a month or so and Halo 2 was by far the 3rd best game on that list. I know the game is revered but western FPS fanatics so I guess thats just my own personal preference talking.

When a single video game sells a system it must be a good game.

The production value and skill put into the game is definetely up there, but story/characters are boring as hell to me.
Online is where it's at...
I dunno, I prefer realistic shooters like Call of Duty, Counter Strike.

I know, I think I'm just a little bitter with gaming these days because I'm the guy that gets screwed when a creative, original product either doesn't get made or the sequel to a creative, original product doesn't get made because all the NA market seems to want is 15 FPS(10 being WW2 themed), 5 Sports and 3 racing games per month. I guess the FPS genre as a whole is my nemesis in terms of gaming.
