If you really want to go down the rabbit hole of incel awfulness, look up (or don't to save your sanity) the absolutely insane concept of "reverse rape" they invented and genuinely believe to be equally bad as actual rape.

That's exactly what Scarlet Johanson has been doing to me for a long time... Denying me love and affection. I am a victim of reverse rape. I'm calling the police.

If that's real, it amazes me someone could write that and expect people to agree with it or even be sympathetic to it in any kind of way.

Oh this crazy world.
It isn't that crazy. Unfortunately most of the 3rd world is like what is described above. Makeup? phhhhttt women can't even leave the house or show their faces. 9 sexual partners? try 1
We are very fortunate to have open minds in the west. For women to feel safe and date freely. These guys have to up their game. Not just in dating but in work and in the social circle.
These guys fail everywhere. Many years in school, kicked out of the army, no friends and objectifying women. They look to pickup lines and shortcuts to get sex and 95% of the time, it doesn't work.

I guess that means that the political spectrum isn't a horizontal line with right on one side and left on the other. It's more of a circle in that the more extreme you get on either side you start moving closer to the other end of the sprectrum.

I dont even know what to say about most of this.
Sure, thats what its like in many places in the world. Not here, but again we had an attack in Canada not Kandahar.
Up their game? Absolutely.
Women are people. They deserve the same rights and respect as everyone else.
They, and its stupid to lump an entire gender together by saying 'they' but here goes anyways.
"They" as in 'Women in general' dont owe these weird incels or anyone else for that matter, anything.
I think the thing about this entire 'incel' issue is that these people are taking their own, very obvious problems and issues, and blaming completely innocent parties.
These incel people appear to be blaming women for not sleeping with them while remaining totally oblivious to the reality that this state of affairs is entirely, 100% of their own making.
Blaming others for your issues is a problem. These guys are just dialing their own problems and insecurities up to 11 and saying someone else is at fault.

Yes, blaming others for their problems is not productive. And taking out their frustrations violently deserves nothing but condemnation.
Still, this is a social issue that we can't simply ignore. Societies with lots of unattached low-status men tend to have problems. We're becoming a society where marriage, and long-term monogamous relationships, are no longer the norm. Young adults today live in a world where the high-status men have lots of partners, and low-status men have none. Women have lower numbers of partners than high-status men, but fewer women are entirely celibate. There are not only more alienated, low-status men than women, but alienated, low-status men pose more of a problem for society because men are far more violent than women. Especially young men.
We can mitigate the danger low-status men pose to the rest of us with the sedative trinity of video-games, pot, and porn. But as we see with these incel martyrs, just because low-status men aren't roaming the streets burning cars and mugging people doesn't mean they can't be radicalized into anti-social behaviour in other ways.

This obviously gets into the nature vs. nurture debate, and I definitely am not a blank-slater, but some of this has to be influenced by what society, popular culture, etc. are telling young men is the norm or provides them with status. From reading some of the incel stuff posted, it seems that it's heavily steeped in traditional, conservative attitudes towards sexuality, and that much of the anger and resentment seems to be derived from a sense of entitlement.
Yeesh. Only a man would write this article. Makes you wonder why the New York Times publishes this kind of crap. Would this writer also suggest sacrificing Christians or burning bibles in order to appease Muslim terrorists?
Well, actually, first it brings me to the case of Robin Hanson, a George Mason economist, libertarian and noted brilliant weirdo. Commenting on the recent terrorist violence in Toronto, in which a self-identified “incel” — that is, involuntary celibate — man sought retribution against women and society for denying him the fornication he felt that he deserved, Hanson offered this provocation: If we are concerned about the just distribution of property and money, why do we assume that the desire for some sort of sexual redistribution is inherently ridiculous?
After all, he wrote, “one might plausibly argue that those with much less access to sex suffer to a similar degree as those with low income, and might similarly hope to gain from organizing around this identity, to lobby for redistribution along this axis and to at least implicitly threaten violence if their demands are not met.”
Quote:
But I expect the logic of commerce and technology will be consciously harnessed, as already in pornography, to address the unhappiness of incels, be they angry and dangerous or simply depressed and despairing. The left’s increasing zeal to transform prostitution into legalized and regulated “sex work” will have this end implicitly in mind, the libertarian (and general male) fascination with virtual-reality porn and sex robots will increase as those technologies improve — and at a certain point, without anyone formally debating the idea of a right to sex, right-thinking people will simply come to agree that some such right exists, and that it makes sense to look to some combination of changed laws, new technologies and evolved mores to fulfill it.
Whether sex workers and sex robots can actually deliver real fulfillment is another matter. But that they will eventually be asked to do it, in service to a redistributive goal that for now still seems creepy or misogynist or radical, feels pretty much inevitable.

I didn't read the entire article but the fragments you've posted don't really support that analogy. He's arguing in favour of technological advancements and changing laws around prostitution to mitigate some of these problems. We probably need to go a bit further than that and find ways to reduce the stigmas around prostitution and those who use it, so long as it's being done in a safe and legal manner. Same would go for sex robots, VR, etc.

The problem with incels is that they objectify women, and believe that their role in society is to allow themselves to be subjugated by men to be sex objects. These folks need therapy and education, not pornography and prostitution and sex robots that will allow them to objectify women even further. I'm not anti-porn or anti-prostitution. I think they service a need, but for communities with a healthy view of women and of sex. /incels is not such a community.

I obviously agree with everything you're saying, but unless you're going to mandate therapy on these losers, you need to look at alternatives to mitigate the potential harm they could cause.
