The investigation has determined that the victim entered the women’s washroom on the evening of Friday, April 27, 2018. The victim was alone when he entered the washroom.
Once inside the washroom, it is believed that he climbed on top of a pony wall which was directly behind the toilets and removed a vent cover, which was located on top of the wall. The pony wall, used to hide utilities, is approximately 7’ tall and is not connected to the ceiling and has no other access points. Based on evidence at the scene, officers believe the victim then climbed inside the pony wall through the vent opening where he became stuck and later died.
The victim’s motivation for crawling inside the wall is unknown at this time.

no. we're waiting on motivation.
I believe if they determine he was a pervert, then it's ok.

It certainly looks like a probable peeping tom setting up surveillance or something, no? I can't really think of any other possible scenario.

Either that or planning to hide out until the mall closed and then break-in somewhere.
I'm sure the police have video of his movement through the mall to know if he was alone or with other people.
If he had camera equipment with him, the police should know his motive, but they might not want to publicize it.

It makes one wonder how many (if) other bodies are in strange locations.

So he climbed in there the night of the 27th... and was found dead the morning of the 30th? That's only 60 hours, so he never starved, and I don't imagine he suffocated in there...
So how did he die?

If he couldn't move much, he could have gotten a blood clot or something.

I was assuming he must have suffocated. Definitely a terrible way to go but i also can’t think of any purpose for him to be climbing into the wall of the women’s washroom that isn’t nefarious. Too bad for his family.

Dehydration could have been the cause of death if the spot was warm which I imagine it would be.
I laughed at some of the jokes on here, whatever. How many people laugh at the Darwin Awards? This sounds like it could be one of those awards.

So, could the mall be in trouble here if they have him on camera going in there but didn't follow up?

Doesn’t seem likely. It’s not a Vegas casino, the cameras aren’t being monitored in real time.
Then again, lawsuits that defy common sense do happen all the time, so I guess it’s possible.

I was thinking perhaps he fell head first into some small cavity.
I was also thinking of that scene from Borat where he mentions one of his hobbies is going to capital city andwatching ladies make toilet

Norm's joke about the Crocodile Hunter isn't even in the same ballpark as this scenario. 1) international news 2) he had it coming 3) Norm is Norm
It's pretty easy for me to imagine this guy as a random person I see in the +15 who died in a rather sad, lonely, and horrific manor and thus I find a string of bad jokes fishing for thanks like Dion reposting gifs in the funny picture thread pretty offputting. If some e-bro like pylon gets triggered by my sensitivity, I'm pretty cool with that tbh.

Oh no.
Won’t we think of the peeping toms. They have feelings too.
There’s pretty much zero other reason for this guy to be in that wall than “Watch ladies making toilet!”
Option 2, which is highly unlikely for a myriad of reasons “Hiding out to steal.” At least isn’t creepy, but still a crime.
So either a sex offender or thief played a stupid game, and won the grand stupid prize.
I feel zero remorse.

I think if he was setting up or retrieving some surveillance equipment, then the police would issue a statement depending on whether anything ended up on the internet.
If he went up there to just watch and do his own thing, the police would probably just let it go, no need to add insult to injury, I guess.
Is there anything on the other side of the wall? The reports keep saying it’s the women’s washroom, but could it just as easily be stated as the men’s washroom or the hallway?

The police statement posted earlier says that the space had no other access points so the only way in was through the women's washroom.

My guess is he was trying to access the little window on the panel on the back of the toilet. There’s an electronic eye/sensor behind those that makes the toilet flush when the sensor senses movement. I bet he was either hoping for a live peep, or like others have alluded to, install a camera.
The ones on urinals have always made me wonder especially when it doesn’t flush. Someone could easily disassemble the thing and put a small IP camera behind the window.

Feeling remorse isn’t required, but based on what little we know, doubling down like this just comes off as sad.
Again, say what you’d say if you were standing in front of the guy’s parents. If that’s it, then it might be time to rethink things.
You’ve got a pretty well-publicised job at a car dealership. On a personal level, if this turns out to be much different than your assumptions, posts like this being very public and linkable to you certainly won’t help you any. Think of yourself, at least.

Your butthurt level is getting pretty high my friend. I'm sure he knows what he's doing, he's a grown lad, as was the person who decided to trespass in a woman's bathroom. And not once ever will I take your bolded suggestion while conversing on/in a public place. $hit happens, and this fellow who passed made that $hit himself.
