And VVD gets his jersey nearly pulled over his head. No penalty but we've had penalties awarded against us for far less.
Oh right. This isnt England.

On paper looks like it should be a 9-8 final between Liverpool and Madrid. Some rather suspect defenses and some elite attacking talent. Which means we'll get a 0-0 snoozefest that would make Mourinho proud.

That save by Alexander-Arnold should lock him into the number one spot for England GK. Too bad the penalty was missed, would have made for an exciting ending

Go on the pool!
Of course, I managed to engineer it so that I'm on a flight at the exact time the final is on. If you guys hear of a diverted flight that day it'll be because some guy was shouting obscenities into a tablet.
Good news if you're superstitious though... the last time Liverpool won the Champions League in Istanbul, I was also on a flight at the same time. It was the day I moved to Canada.

Real-Bayern was the real final. A 7-6 aggregate in a CL semifinal? Lol. Good luck with that in the final.
Go Madrid (ugh). I hope Ronaldo scores and celebrates bare-chested in front of a red-faced Klopp

If we see this again:
I will consider the CL final a success, no matter who wins.
PS: Obviously cheering for Liverpool. Uefa and their darling club can go away.

Well congrats to Liverpool. I kind of feel for you Locke, only because I know you were almost on a plane to Kiev to watch Bayern and Liverpool, but I am sure this will suffice.

We're in the Champions' League Final. Who would have predicted that at the start of the season?

There has to be some degenerate gamblers who threw down $100 for Liverpool to win it back in the fall, right? They must be looking at a big payday now.

Liverpool with the slight edge in attack, no one has the edge in defense. But on paper the midfield matchup is a huge mismatch, so Liverpool gonna need some huge performances there to win. Should be a fun final.

That and the one when Dzeko got absolutely cleaned by Darius on an fluffled offside call.
Two clear missed penalties and a borderline red card.
Which of course aren't mentioned and forgotten about as it doesn't fit the usual always the victim, refs are against us, we would have 10 PL titles if it wasn't for Howard Webb and Fergie Time Liverpool whining.

The missed the one earlier though against Trent Alexander-Arnold that was a clear hand ball in the box (honestly now sure how they don't call this - clear as day from any angle)...potentially even a red.
Also Dzeko wasn't close to offside, and then Karius took him down as last man back...so that could have been a red.
In some ways Liverpool got lucky in that second half.
Not sure why Roma had to be down by 4 on aggregate before they would play though.

Oh come on, Roma got 2 penalties on handballs that shouldn't have been called, and Mane and Wijnadldum both got fouled in the box with no call.
Calls went both ways throughout the tie. The right team went through.

I'm not arguing that the right team didn't go through. Liverpool deserved it over the two legs.
Simply pointing out that they got a decent amount of assistance from the refs tonight in the form of two missed clear cut penalties and one probable red card and to highlight that ... yes calls go both ways and despite the constant whining we have to read here sometimes Liverpool are not always the victim.

Firmino first player in Champions League history to have 7 goals and 7 assists. He’s got 10 and 7. Most underrated player in the world, he’s world class.

Liverpool in the Champions' League Final.
I never even dreamed about this at the beginning of the season.
