Yeah, what a hockey player says when a camera is stuck in his face is about the least trustworthy source possible, unless you’re looking for information on how many foot of game you have to play, how many percents you have to give, and whether the team did or did not play hard.

He doesn't have to say anything actually. Nobody asked him if he wanted to stay there, he stated that on his own. The Islanders actually have some very good young pieces and he has built a life there, I don't think he is just saying it.

Kessel on the third line and two shiny rings to show for it. Also Tkachuk isn't buried. Hes playing as the offensive catalyst and physical presence for the shut down line. Janko anchors the fourth line. Both players play some special teams. Flames win cup. See. Easy.

Read the first part. Okposo is to increase the odds that we get Tavares in the first place. He also hasn't been an entirely useless player.

Good points. I didn't have time to fully explain my fantasy trade idea. I think of okposso has such a bad contract, then we can get buffalo to add assets/ retain $.
Just an idea though, I dont need anyone to tell me it wont happen. If CalgaryPuck was in a library, I wouldn't be looking for it in the non-fiction section.

We need scoring. Were 2 scoring top 6 wingers away from being stanley cup contenders imo. I can see brodie being dealt for some scoring help. Elias lindholm from carolina maybe? Josh anderson from columbus? Bjugstad from florida?

I couldn't agree more and it is not being a Debbie downer, just being realistic. Even if JT does not re-sign in NYI, there are many other teams in line, with cap space that would pull out all the stops to sign him to a max term with a crazy AAV.
It will not happen in Calgary, so how about some potential hockey trades to add a top 6 forward?
