Voted cautiously optimistic. I think Peters has more leadership and hockey IQ to offe the team than the name that shall not be mentioned did.

Yes, but some sound better than others.

I don't pretend to know how Peters will do in Calgary, but I will say this much—he certainly did not hurt his cause today. I was happy to give Gulutzan the benefit of the doubt for a long time, but was never even nearly as impressed by his hockey insight and presentation as I was today with Peters.

I meant he is a relative unknown for the fact that we don’t know if he can be successful in the NHL; we’re hoping he’s a better coach than his resume suggests.

Vigneault, Sutter, and others... we know that they have been very successful in this league.

Charisma for sure. Wait and see who his assistants are. Treliving still have tasks at hand. We will have a better picture in preseason.

I like your tone. Bravo!

I have no idea about it since I use the app. But feedback taken, I will look into my desktop version.

Peters impressed me in the presser as he sounds like a guy that knows the game and is confident on what works. His remarks leave me optimistic about the team utilizing their defencemen a lot more next year which is great news given the abilities of Brodie, Giordano and Hamilton. Even guys like Kulak and Andersson should hopefully flourish in that style.

It's funny 'cause I can see the Flames swinging the other way now next year, more goals scored, more excitement for the fans, but more odd man rushes against and Smith needing to stop breakaways.

Overall, I'll predict that it will lead to an improvement, as many teams (Leafs as an example) have proven that poor defensive play isn't as important to team success if the team can score at a high rate.

Little nervous. He can say what he wants, but the actual actions and results is what will do the talking. His past record doesn't speak confidence, but we'll find out.

I'll say this: I don't want to hear anything about the 'system' passed the first month of the season. Systems are BS. Hockey is a simple game. Keep the puck away from your net and force your man to the outside in the defensive zone. Do the opposite in the offensive zone.

What's Scotty Bowman's system? Toe Blake? Glen Sather? Systems are nothing - you need to be able to match wits with the best in the game, figure out what the other side is doing, counter it, motivate 23 millionaires, be a pillar in the community, and handle the media among other things. It's a hard gig, and if was easy, everyone would do it. But if the best thing you can say about a coach is he's got a great system, that is a bad head coach.

The poll options are skewed and awful. If you're going to make a poll as a mod, at least make the answers somewhat neutral to get a response, even on a flames-centric forum.

The moderator who put this together is inviting ridicule from other teams' fan bases.

Are you looking at a different poll than the rest of us? I see a full spectrum of options available.

Horrible hire.
The man did nothing in Carolina and will do nothing here. The usual mediocre hire we’ve seen with the Flames over the last 15 years. I would have rather seen Tippett than this guy.
I predict Tre will be gone after next year.

How is it not neutral?
There are two negative answers two positive ones and two others
What’s the problem?

I think there's no gap on the positive side like there is on the negative.

You're either really negative, or pretty much neutral. A little nervous and cautiously optimistic are pretty much the same thing.

They are intended to be slightly negative and slightly positive.
I’m guessing this is one of those cases where since the results don’t match what some people expect the poll must be flawed

I expected these kind of results after his interviews and I still think it's tilted.

Love it, like it, neutral, don't like it, hate it. There's some significant grey area and easy outs in the options, which people are likely to take over pinning down an opinion for people to refer to later.

We're all in wait and see mode now, so as I said before, I don't think that's a good option.

I think the poll is just fine, people can interpret anything any way they want but I think the poll questions reduce ambiguity enough.

I voted wait and see, because I’m kinda tired of being abused as a fan.

I say that now but I’m sure I’ll be watching in September which pisses me off even more.

Optimistic. I can't and won't judge until I've seen a few games. Maybe I'm wrong but I think a coach has a style but has to adjust based on his players.
