I would probably stop watching the flames if Perry came to this team. There is no "turning over a new leaf" here. The guy is pretty much everything I hate about where hockey is going. Flopping and diving, and yet one of the most underhanded players on anahiem. There are no qualities that he posseses that matter enough to redeem my hate and loathing for that man.

Ask yourself this though what does that do for Anaheim?
Eat half and take Brouwer costs them more against the cap than keeping Perry. A year less on the contract but that weakens Anaheim and strengthens Calgary

For sure. That's the only way I would do it. Perry is in great decline.

Other teams would be frothing at the mouth and taking penalties before the Flames even got off the bus...

Based on his rapid decline, I would agree with the pest part but not the putting the puck in the net part.

Perry is one of only a few players I would refuse to cheer for on the team. I would boo him mercilessly.
Same goes if we ever acquired Kesler, Bieksa, or Burrows.

The big name guys from the cup winning teams are going to fall off a cliff if not already begun. There's a ton of hard miles on these guys. Not sure I want to buy in on one of them considering the term and absolutely crazy cap hits on some of the guys like Perry.

What about Nick Bjugstad from the Panthers? He was excellent after he got moved to RW next to Barkov.
Florida is looking for a top 4 defenseman. Maybe something around Brodie?

Yes please. Nick Bjugstad would be a sweet addition to the Flames.

Lots of playoffs, and lots of TC for Perry as well.
And lots of physicality too.
In hockey years, he's about 47

I'd be happy with a Bjugstad for Brodie deal.
Big body, right shot, can score goals. Can also play center in a pinch if needed.

People undervalue Brodie so damn much. Bjagstad?
Really?
Imagine a few years ago if some team were offering us a struggling top 3 defenseman like Jake Gardiner for Joe Colborne.

I would also but he makes zero use of his body. Not physical whatsoever.
Has a great slapper and one timer though.
Florida would be adding just a touch though.

He is basically 2016 Colborne. A tall middle six winger known for inconsistent complete level and poor hockey sense. Maybe he is slightly better and more proven but they're a lot closer than they are apart.
Trading Brodie for him would be asking to get fleeced.

lol, OK then we'll just wait and see if Bjugstad is out of the league next season then won't we?
I'm betting not.

As if you would have predicted then that Colborne would be out of the league two years after he scored 20 goals and 40 points.
Colborne was a disposable middle six winger for us.
Bjugstad is a disposable middle six winger for Florida.
Gardiner was a talented, creative defensemen on the **** list of 80% of leafs fans.
Brodie is a talented, creative defenseman on the **** list of 80% of Flames fans.
Brodie, like Gardiner, is a lot more likely to return to form as star players than the wingers are to be much more than they are. Bjugstad doesn't need to be out of the league in two years to not be worth TJ Brodie.

No, Bjugstad needs to be out of the league in two years to make your stupid comparison accurate. Just own up to it. "I made a stupid comparison" Not that hard.
Bjugstad may not be worth TJ Brodie, but he sure as #### isn't Joe Colborne.
