If Treliving's calculus was he wanted to go with they guy he knows - that is not a good sign. What kind of team does Treliving want? Is it, win games 2-1, big heavy slow - the style that won before: Ducks, Kings
or
Is it the NHL today, speed, skill, huge positive goal differential. PITT, VGK, NSH etc.
If this in fact is his thinking (familiarity) then what the hell has happened to Treliving?
I'm doing what I didn't want to do and conjecturing without anything being official or any body of work to look at but... please follow the speed, skill blueprint. Get a coach that utilizes this (even if it is Peters).

Yes. Jim Montgomery
I posted an article on him, somewhere hundreds or thousands of posts ago.
He himself has a Process. Assumed Tre would have taken note.

Looks a lot like Trotz' first 4 years. Also AV's years 2-4. Also Torts' first 3 years.

Well that's a relief at least. Amongst his other coaching faults, I always thought GG was way too soft on the team. In general, yes, but especially so with the whipping boys on the 4th line. Absolutely butter soft. I believe even Versteeg said something about how lucky the boys should consider themselves because they get away with so much under GG that wouldn't fly with other coaches around the league.
One of Darryl's most appreciated traits from his former players was that he was willing to rip on everyone from the superstar to the 4th line grinder. It increases accountability across the lineup. I am hoping Peters is the same in that regard.
I'll add on one of Tort's stories - when Fedotenko first joined the team, it was a little awkward between the players when he'd get away with playing bad and not getting yelled at, instead having a private meeting with Torts instead (think language barrier may have been an issue). Then, the first time he screamed at Ruslan in front of the entire team in the locker room, everyone was like "Woah, alright, so THAT'S what's going on behind those closed doors. Okay." and bonded a lot better as a team afterwards.

The thread going off the rails is my favorite part. Seriously, gave me a good chuckle. Irrational venting helps frustration.

Nope, but let's not just point to the record and declare defeat. Especially then saying that AV's looks different - it didn't at the same career point.
I'm not big on Peters. But his record isn't a reason aside from my previously stated opinion that certain Flames might need to know that the coach is a bigger name than they are.

I like how everyone has a strong opinion of a guy that coaches a team that none of us gave a single #### about. Personally, the only Canes games I've ever watched were the ones they played against the Flames and the time they beat the Oilers in the finals. The Canes have a pretty bad rebuilding roster, so Peters' record also doesn't mean much to me.
Basically, I cannot properly judge this hiring, if this is the direction they go.

Quick recap......to see if I've grasped everything.
Bill Peter's could end up being our coach
Bill Peter's is just GG v.02
People are mad at Bill Peter's
People are supportive of Peter's
We will only win 35 games in the next 2 years.
We will lose out on the lottery in the next 2 years.
Cali Flames Fan is NOT a Dr.....he's a chiropractor.
Doctors are good chiropractors are bad.
If Glen was bad Bill is worse.
Someone's right and someone's wrong
Thread is crazy
Someone is offended
Brad Treliving is nuts
Brad Treliving is only hiring Bill Peter's because it matches BP.
Am I missing something.?

Can we cross-reference all the "anyone would be better than GG" posts with all the "Oh noes Peters is worse than GG" posts?
