A guy like Hamonic would also fit in great. Which, I guess, shows how valuable and hard to find those guys are.
Yeah, but you don't trade a guy when he's at his lowest possible market value. That's called "Chiarelling".

Goals are not the only measure of offense. They're not even a good one. Reilly scored more points this year than Hamilton ever has. Reilly's biggest strength is transitioning the puck from his end to the other, which produces offense, but usually assists (and that depends on how many passes take place after he moves the puck).
Even points are an imperfect measure of offense - they just show you who touched the puck last. A D-man whose offensive talents lend themselves more to getting shots through for tips or rebounds is more likely to have a higher point total than a transition player, but that doesn't mean they generate more goals.
Anyway the underlying point is that Hamilton isn't a 60-70 point guy on the Leafs. There are very few real 60-70 point defensemen in hockey. To end up with those totals on a consistent basis in the modern game, you pretty much either need to be very good at the skills I just talked about (e.g. Brent Burns) or be a generational talent (e.g. Erik Karlsson). That was what I was really trying to say - my point wasn't a comparison between Reilly and Hamilton.
I see your point but Reilly’s up tick in offensive production can partially be attributed to him playing on a team that was exceptional offensively this year. Flames were beyond inconsistent offensively outside of 3 forwards for the entire year. Hamilton would score and put up more points on the leafs without a doubt imo. His potential is a 60-70 pt player if he’s on a very good team. Hamilton has also been putting up 40+ points for years now, Reilly only achieved that this year. Hamilton’s attributes give him far more potential in the future, now we’ll see if he can reach it.

This is Rielly`s first year getting powerplay time. Prior to this season he wasn't used on the powerplay. That's why his point totals are higher this year.
Under Babcock getting real powerplay time I mean. Carlyle played him on the powerplay a lot as a 19-20 year old.

I just don’t see the same offensive potential as I do with Hamilton. Reilly is a really solid Dman but I just think if Hamilton can iron out some of his weaknesses he’s a much more valuable player. I would need to see Reilly outproducing Hamilton by a decent margin over the next several seasons to change my opinion.
Will the Leafs die a quick and painless death? Or will they drag it out and break their fans hearts again in a Game 7 OT loss?
I am not feeling too positive about this game, but anything can happen.
Kadri will be back after serving his 46 game suspension for killing a man and eating his babies.
Can Andersen play better than his current .880SV% and 4.13GAA!! Let's hope so. If he can keep the Bruins under 3 goals the Leafs might have a chance. No softies tonight Andersen!
So, setting aside whether or not TO is a good trading partner for the Flames, what NHL teams are most likely looking for upgrades in mobility and offence on their blue line?
Plenty of teams really. It's just a matter of finding one that is a good trade partner as the Flames have a specific need of a top RW.

No matter what happens the talking heads will have a lot to say.
Either the Leafs come back from being down 3-1 but this time close out the series or they come back to lose it in 7 again.
I'm nervous but the one thing I feel positive about is this: The Leafs have done this without Matthews being a factor. Sure he has had spurts of looking like his old self, but he hasn't had a game where whenever he is on the ice he looks dangerous.
If Matthews can pull off a game where he is dictating play when he is on the ice I will like their chances a little more.
But at this point it's a coin-flip on who wins Game 7.
That is quite possibly the stupidest thing they could do. Not only is it hockey, i's a game 7. People are going to be furious.

Haha people will complain about anything when it comes to the Leafs. Why is this be a bad thing? It will be a great atmosphere. When you go to a bar they have multiple games on. What's the difference?
