Nope, just wondering what he would make and if that is the reason he is a leading candidate. i.e. hire the cheap guy.
Sad thing is,if the team took all the money they have been paying coaches not to coach and added it to a decent salary they could prob afford a top teir coach...
I didn't hear the interview so I can't comment but I also can't fathom someone leaving a $1.6M guarantee for next year for a job that paid a quarter of that. My best guess is he'd be making closer to $2M (a $400k increase).
They were saying The new owner wants to fire him, but is hoping Flames hire him so that he doesn't have to pay the out clause. Apparently Peters wanted to be fired to get the payment. Or something like that.
After writing that (and if true) I want him here as coach even less.

Friedman mentioned on 960 this morning that Carolina would be on the hook for the difference in salary. If his contract in Calgary is for $1.5 million, Carolina would be responsible for $100K.

It's not disrespect. If I'm sick or need medical help I go to a doctor. If I need an adjustment I go to the chiropractor.

I was under the impression that they meant Carolina would be responsible for any shortfall up to 1.4. So if Calgary offered him a $1MM contract, Carolina would be responsible for 400k to make up to 1.4.
Otherwise Calgary could offer him a $10MM contract and they would be responsible for $8.6MM?
