Get her a night out with her girlfriends. Organize it with her friends and pay for dinner or something for all of them. Gives her a chance to get out for a night without the rugrat and have fun with her friends.

As a mom, I can tell you that this is a great idea ^^^ .. trust me
Also, someone mentioned a night with the girlfriends which is good too. Personally I think a relaxing night alone wihtout the kids would be perfect but if she is a social butterfly then time with her friends would also be a good idea.

Some good ideas in this thread.
I'm in the same situation re: baby--but here's some food for thought. Your whole family will be getting you gifts for the baby... your job is to remind her that she's the no. 1 person in your life by getting her something just for her.
I'm actually pondering getting a Razr for my wife. I know she wants one, but I'm not sure how simple it would be to get one given that we're already on 2 year agreements on our current phones. I'll have to check it out.

Sometimes they'll give you a discount on the phone if you sign a longer contract than the one you currently have. Only other advice would be to check e-bay. I was looking for one before and they cost between 300 and 400$.

Yikes. That's probably too much with a baby on the way. I'll check with verizon and see if they'll cut me some slack in exchange for my soul and a pound of flesh.
Otherwise, I might as well get her a nano for that price. She actually did ask for one, which confuses me since she already has a slightly older 40 gig iPod. She's a gadget maniac, though!!

Cause when she opens it up and sees the vacuum cleaner, you are gonna have to backpeddle and say, oops, wrapped my stuff up instead of yours ))

Vacation. Spend a week somewhere hot. The trip itself is nice, but the weeks of anticipation are the real present. Mexico is very affordable.

My wife wants a TV/radio to mount underneath her kitchen cabinets. I found one in a Canadian Tire ad, with a 7" LCD screen, but it was sold out when I got there. It was a brutal brand name anyways, so I'm glad I couldn't buy it.
Any ideas where I can get something like this?

I bought my wife dance lessons at Mount Royal (for couples.. yes, I went too) for her Birthday and she loved them. They were bearable for me and she has pretty much not complained about me watching every Flames game so far this year.

I'm thinking a closed circuit TV set up for every room in the house and a remote control Humvee. Then she can sit in the living room and chase the cat around the house. And I can take a turn when she doesn't want to do it, which will be always!
Seriously, something personal like a weekend at some spa. And while she's at her spa weekend, why not go that extra mile and get that Hold 'Em tournament with the guys out of the way while she's not around.

When I first went away to university, I was really the only one that ventured away from home so I missed my friends and family a lot. So for Christmas, my boyfriend at the time bought a scrapbook with lots of blank pages and took it around to my friends and family. They each had a page for themselves where they wrote messages or drew pictures or pasted pics of us on it. Reading and looking through it was amazing. It was the best gift I have ever received. So maybe go with something sentimental for the wife. Give her something that reminds of her of a special time you two have shared together. Just an idea. Either way, just put some thought into it. We like that.
Jewelry is always acceptable though...

I've had this thread on my brain all day. Finally, inspiration struck. You need to buy a HUGE gift basket and fill it with pampering, indulgent stuff for YOU to do for her. For example, a couple of very nice champagne glasses and a really nice bottle of champagne, chocolate dip and strawberries, massage oils, really nice bubble bath or salts if she prefers, a wonderful CD of relaxing, romantic songs, silky or cozy bed sheets(depending on her preference), scented candles and any other little things that you can think of.
This doesn't have to be a night of wild jungle sex, just quiet time for the two of you. Most women like time with their partners, just being together, not stuff. Massage or spas are nice but can be impersonal, and I'd much rather have my husband touch me than a stranger.
Because theres a baby in the house, take the time to arrange for a sitter and let her know that she needs to pump if she's breast feeding (chocolate and champage aren't good choices for the little one). Put a romantic, but not mushy, note with the invitation for a quiet evening for two.

I hate to bump what has become a rather old-ish thread, but I think that discussion of what to get our significant others for Christmas has become if anything more germane than before. I'm a last-minute shopper, but if I don't start thinking about this stuff soon, it won't be a jolly Christmas for me.
I have a question for those CP users with more gadget-savvy than I have. I know that my wife would like an iPod Nano--specifically the red one you buy directly from Apple, where the proceeds go to AIDS research. But here's my question:
She already has a 40 Gig iPod--though it's admittedly older and can't show pictures or slide shows--and is by comparison slightly large-ish. It's otherwise perfectly serviceable. So what's the good reason (you know, to justify the $250 to myself) that she needs a new one? What makes the iPod Nano better than the old iPod that she already has? I almost bought one online a few minutes ago, and then I started to talk myself out of it. Any information you guys have would be appreciated--I really know virtually nothing about these things.
