Was going to say the same thing. I'm hardly a fan of that family but this isn't the time for that

Yeah, that's real neat for her. Not really neat for millions of Iraqis.

He was talking about having class in a thread about someone who died. You wouldn't understand...

A few years later the Simpson's writers decided to re-ignite the feud and created the classic episode Two Bad Neighbors. This was a homage to Dennis the Menace with Bart as Dennis and the Bushes as the Wilsons.

She was a wiz with cold drinks. George never understood them himself, not his forte.

RIP Barbara Bush. You truly embody what a first lady should be, unlike the current one in office. Wife and mother of two American Presidents is a pretty decent pedigree unlike several of the moronic posters in this thread criticizing her on her death.

My most memorable Barbara Bush moment was when her generals advised against attacking Karbala. Old Barb wasn't having it. "I want body count she said, I don't care how it looks to the international community!". Rumour is she was personally on the phone with the commanding officers during the battle from the Situation Room. Just to make sure it was as violent as possible.

She was such a hawk president.

Gah, internet is so gross sometimes. Apparently Barbara killed a million Iraqis with her uterus but Saddam was a good alternative.

RIP Barbara

What has that to do with Barbara Bush? Not only she did not kill any Iraqis, she wasn't even involved in the decision to send troops to Iraq. You can hate both Bushes, but leave the wife and mother alone.

Try reading the post I quoted. Don’t you think ‘neat’ is the wrong word to describe watching your spawn start a war under false pretences and leave uncountable civilians dead?

I know Barb didn’t think she needed to worry her pretty head about it but a lot of Iraqis and soldiers didn’t have that option.

So when Trudeau, Harper, Martin, and Chretien pass away or their mothers do, we are to sneer at their family members because people in another country were killed under their leadership? Interesting take.

Just because these Canadian prime ministers didn't kill "millions" of Iraqis, they have certainly killed hundreds or maybe thousands of other foreigners. Is the Afghani mother's grief less than that of an Iraqi mother who's son was killed by an American bomb or Canadian bullet?

I wonder if you will snicker at the Obamas when Michelle passes. She has to pay for the sins of her husbands drone strikes, right?

Agreed it's probably unfair for Iraqis to target Barbara Bush but her son did destroy their country. I can certainly understand how frustrated they must be that the American public is allowing Dubya's legacy to be rehabilitated only because he doesn't seem so bad compared to Trump.

I watch none. He [former President Bush] sits and listens and I read books, because I know perfectly well that, don’t take offense, that 90 percent of what I hear on television is supposition, when we’re talking about the news. And he’s not, not as understanding of my pettiness about that. But why should we hear about body bags, and deaths, and how many, what day it’s gonna happen, and how many this or what do you suppose? Or, I mean, it’s, it’s not relevant. So, why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that? And watch him suffer.
