I was old enough at 14, to know that if I threw stuff at moving cars...it might cause accidents.
And here I thought kids were reaching the realm of understanding at an even younger age then they used to.

"rights" have very little to do with the gray gray really real world we all live in.
there's people walking around right now that are just waiting for someone to mess with them.
sometimes people come along and give them that little push.
doesn't have to be 'right' or 'wrong' - it JUST HAPPENS.
people can do things that make this more likely, or do things that don't make this more likely. their choice in many regards, like this one.
why people have to divide this into stupid little camps to make them feel better, i will never understand.

What it proved was I never said they should be shot. If you asked as opposed to making assumptions we could have avoided most of the BS.

I was much much younger than 14 when I did this...
Probably about 7 or 8.
If that matters at all.
Either way, Kids do some pretty dumb stuff... All i wanted to see was a train wreck... I would never in a million years think about possibly killing the conductor, spilling harmful chemicals, costing tax payers millions in clean up fees, and even possibly killing myself...
If the kids knew it was dangerous, they wouldn't do it... They just want to egg cars, get their laughs, and go on with life.

In this case I have little sympathy for the kid that was shot. My sympathies lie with the parents for their grieving and their loss.

I'm sorry that the kids got shot and it doesn't excuse the shooter for his actions. The kids on the other hand threw eggs at a vehicle with strangers in it. A kid has to know that nothing good will come from his actions. Yet i'm supposed to feel sorry for some kids who did that. Should we sweep under the rug the actions of these kids?

No. The kid should've been dragged kicking and screaming to his parents. Maybe a swat on the ass. He should've been responsible for any damage to the vehicle or, at the very least, the cleaning bill.
