Treliving trolled Spector hard with that timing.
Truly the worst newsbreaker/predictor ever. So bad it's funny.

Why? Whatever the fans said or didn't say has nothing to do with the change and whoever comes in.

I also wouldnt be opposed to Ruff. He did good things in Buffalo with a team that was built around team defense, fast transitions and a strong forecheck.
I'm going to say:
Sutter - Head Coach
Huska - Assistant Coach

After Gulutzan was fired, he instinctively looked down to the iPad on the floor to see what had just happened.

Gulutzan wasnt the right guy for this team. All we can do is hope that the GM finds someone who is and not hitch his wagon to some more 'Magic Beans.'
You say it like we fired Ol' Gul. We had nothing to do with it. Now Treliving has to find the right guy.
And its not my place to say but I think everyone knows it. Hes got to find the right guy. Or else...

16 years coaching in the NHL, but still only 56 years old.
1,216 games
648 wins
435 losses
.532 win %
2 Presidents trophies
2 Stanley Cup finals
9 100+ point seasons (pro rated lock out year)
I mean really, everyone knows who's resume this is, and this should be the first guy offered the vacant coaching job.
Whether he takes the job or not I dunno, but he should be the first guy offered.

Only good thing Peters did is tell Lack to stop a puck.

I liked Glen and I think he's real smart. He just seemed to be in overhead as a head coach. I think a group that had a proven guy like Sutter or AV with Gulutzan and Huska would have been a tremendous staff.

You could almost repeat history with that one. Sutter grooming Huska to become the next head coach. Hopefully with better results than Playfair.

That said, would much prefer AV.

Count me in. Tippett had had success everywhere except his last few years in Phoenix where Scotty Bowman couldn’t have coached that team higher than the basement. Also, his system of low scoring, boring hockey is mostly myth.
1.) Vigneault
2.) Tippett
3.) Trotz, Sutter
4.) Ruff

BT seems like a smart cat. I think this team being so fresh out of a rebuild he may have figured doing some light experimenting was worth the gamble. He somewhat caved on goaltending and found a reasonable short term solution. The coaching "off the board" hire and "filling holes from within" to address scoring depth have both failed. You could argue our defensive depth signing and acquisitions were simply coaching ineptitude due to reluctance to try different pairings in different situations.
Hiring an established coach, and trading from our wealth of defensive depth have to be his obvious goals this summer. Experimenting is out of question at this point.

Well wishing for Gulutzan to come back would be wishing for a 3rd year of Gulutzan hockey. I wouldn't wish that on anyone except maybe Oilers fans. Nowhere to go but up really.

I'll take a well reasoned analysis over a quick conclusion any day of the week. Anybody can spout conclusions with minimal effort. A comprehensive analysis, even if flawed, brings more to the table and is of much more value.
