Sutter, Vigneault and possibly Quenneville available among others. Good summer to be coach hunting.
I hope they move fast this time and snap up somebody proven. A young team like this needs an experienced, confident coach.

Considering how badly Vancouver sucked that season, kind of weird to use it as a positive example.

Not saying this is a bad decision, but I'm surprised for some reason. I got a sense from listening to Treliving's interview the other day that he'd keep Gulutzman.
But as stated by Otto-matic, need a proven coach, no experiments.
I'd add, someone who can work with the talent available, not try to make them something they're not. I don't think Sutter is the answer...A.V. seems more appropriate to me.

I wouldnt say a year, but he should have been fired before Christmas.
If you're going to do it then do it. The team waited too long and we burned a year of opportunity.
Sorry Glen. He seems like a great guy but this is a ruthless business.

No. I will be interested to hear what the GM and the new coach have to say, and happy to let things play out a bit before deciding one way or the other whether it was a good choice.
I don't see the point of making up my mind about something before it has happened.

I have a weird feeling it's AV. There's been a couple weeks for discussions to have been initiated there..

I think Torts deserves a mulligan for that season as that was when the Canucks were beginning to crumble. He's proven in his other stops he's a top tier head coach.

They already said Quenneville will be back in Chicago.
We are likely looking at one of:
Sutter
Vigneault
Peters
Trotz
I actually don't see Sutter coming back here, and I'm not sure how much Vigneault is a fit with this management group. One of Peters or Trotz (who seems to be on the way out even if the Caps can come back).

I really want the Flames to get Vignault. I'll come into next season very excited if that happens.

Legitimate question: Why is everyone concerned with Peters being a possible candidate? He still has a year left on his deal with the Canes and he hasn’t been listed (by the NHL media) as one of the the guys who’s firing is imminent.
