Now lets trade all the players. Las Vegas is the building model to emulate now. Build a whole new team along with the coaching staff. Give them maximum ability to form a cohesive unit by eliminating everyone who can feel like they have been here before.

In a perfect world Gulutzan would have been an assistant coach for the Flames under a coach with a proven track record like when he worked under Torts in Vancouver. Seems like the perfect buffer between the players and a head coach. I wish him the best of luck and hope to see him back in the NHL in the future.

It simply had to be done. Someone has to be accountable. You can't trade 20 guys. You can fire the coach.

They need someone to kick the players in their rear end in order to get them going. An assertive coach who knows how to manage players is in order.

Sutter would be the perfect coach in my opinion.

From last year's game three loss thread.

It's about time ol' Glue Gun got shown the door.

Wish him all the best, and appreciate all his efforts. But it just wasn't working in Calgary, and a change needed to be made.

A year too late. Gully is a great person but I never got the sense that he got the most out of his players (with the exception of a handful of games after his stick toss).

Likely the end of the road for GG and his NHL head coaching career.

By all accounts Glen is a really good guy who is well liked within the NHL circle, who also represented the Flames organization with class, especially with his latest move heading to Humboldt and lending support.

However he is just not a quality NHL head coach.

I won't gloat or celebrate at a man losing his job. I still wanted to punch Pollock in the face when he basically jumped Greg Gilbert in the airport with a poop eating grin on his face after Gilbert was fired.

On a professional side I think that GG wasn't ready for head coaching for this team at this time, and there wasn't a good support system of assistant coaches.

Best of luck to GG and DC et al in their future careers.

But this is only part of the fix, now we need a coach that can deal with a team that seems to have characters/chemistry problems.

Bring in the coach bot 3000 with shock arms.

A lot of people are bored of deep diving stats that fly in the face of what really matters, and what they're seeing when they watch these boring games. They might have been interested in that three months ago, but it's over.
I'm not sure I said deep dive at any point today to be honest.

Additionally you won't see me telling people that what they see isn't valid, or that their opinions are wrong.

But aren't you basically saying there are people that have their minds made up and I should stay out of their way and stop arguing with them? Because honestly if saying things should be looked into shouldn't cause this level of anger in my mind.

Guys will be moved too, because the roster still has problems.

The shame is that this wasn't done earlier, so Treliving could see the players for a stretch under a different coach. Now he's either going to trade on faith that yes, the player actually is a problem, or wait to trade after he sees them under a new staff but while being harder to trade during the season.

This delay is costly.
