Absolutely. When you think about it, the idea of expansion franchises sucking balls for years, is terrible for the league (any league).
The NHL got it totally right this time - give the expansion team much more to work with, so that they can build fan support. And if you do that, you can also charge the expansion team more for entry.
But let's keep something else in mind: Vegas was the LONE expansion team, which is unusual. Had there been two teams fighting over the expansion draft scraps, it is a certainty that both teams would have been basement dwellers.

I don't think players take a team bus to the airport in their own city do they? Pretty sure the Flames have always gone there themselves and then they bus together once they're in the road city.
Otherwise they'd have to leave their vehicles at the rink.

Of course missing Muzzin and Doughty for game 2 isn't easy, either.

LA had a hot start this season...in 2018 their record is basically the same as the Flames who were terrible down the stretch.
They are certainly trending downward...I bet you are right

Lots of people in this thread took the Kings, and in some cases easily so. People have to remember that this isn't the same roster as a few years ago and it isn't Sutter behind the bench. Quick is covering up a lot of the problems with this roster.
Oh, and the Knights are for real, so people better get used to it.

Knights have got to be one of the scariest teams in a long while. And not because of any one person, but somehow, the sum of the parts far exceeds the individual value. Some questioned if the magic juju would continue into the playoffs, and looks like it has, which has got to be terrifying for the rest of the West.
Watching them dismantle the Cup quality Kings has been fantastic hockey.

Yeah, I think calling them the "Cup quality Kings" is a huge stretch. The Kings will probably not come close to playing for another Stanley Cup with this group.

I'm sure Haula's butt-end probably hurt Kopitar. But I also think that this is one of several instances these playoffs where players are embellishing the play. Might be wrong, but Kopitar's reaction for the minute after the incident sure felt disingenuous to me.
Can't figure out how to imbed the stills. Here's the TSN video where you can see it. https://www.tsn.ca/kings-calling-for...nded-1.1058049
0:45 - smacks the right side of Kopitar's face
0:50 - Kopitar holding the left side of his face

I am not sure if it is true or not but Hrudy pointed this out in their intermission discussion saying that jaws work like that. If you get hit hard on one side of the jaw, the other side can take just as much or more of the impact and lots of times the other side is what breaks...

Didn't Hrudey talk about this during one of the intermissions? I recall him saying that it appeared as though Kopitar was experiencing pain on the other side of his jaw than where he was hit. He went on to say that this is a bad sign that he has probably broken something, and that this response is pretty common with severe jaw injuries.

This is exactly how my jaw broke.
The side opposite the impact cracked.
