Haha. About time. Grichuk has 3 hits, 3 walks and 14 strike outs in 43 plate appearances.
That is taking awful to a whole new level of awfulness.

Hernandez and Grichuk actually *should* be pretty similar hitters over the course of a long season. Both have high power, high K rates.
But I'm in favour of lengthening the OF depth and seeing if we can strike with a hot bat like Hernandez had last September and this spring.

Yeah, they are very similar. I honestly don't have much hope for either to be significant contributors long term.
Travis has also been abysmal at the plate, but at least he has a history of starting slow and then heating up big time.

Yeah, Teoscar and Grichuk are virtually identical in terms of profile. Hard contact free swingers with good defense. Grichuk needs a few days off... he's not as bad a hitter as he's shown but I figure you can reassure him he's not out of a job, give him a few days off so he can watch some video, and hopefully get in a relaxed headspace (slump has got to be weighing on him by now).
This let's Pearce get some reps at DH instead of in the OF where he's... less then optimal.

I don't think it's in our FO's MO to rush young players, but I wonder that if JD's injury lingers as the season wears on, and if Vlad continues to destroy AA, they don't consider bringing the kid up. He's only 19, but I really think he'd be able to hit at the MLB level now. They could DH him mostly with Solarte at 3rd, but spell the kid in at 3B once in a while too. Sounds crazy, but he's a special talent that keeps smashing through barriers every time they put one in front of him.
