Which is a problem for GJG, because his MO is that he will send you a PM stating he will delete your reply without reading.

I don't have the hate for Francis that a majority of this board does, but that is a pretty outlandish thing to say. Gaudreau always seems to be trying to throw the team on his back and will them to a win. You can simply see that through any television screen 82 times a year.
And with knowing what Monahan just went through those comments look downright ridiculous in retrospect. No one knew the extent of Monahan's injury situation until today, but to throw that kind of comment out there doesn't look good right now.

In my opinion, I KNOW he isn't good enough. What part of the evaluation process am I missing? A few angry or motivating speeches behind closed doors? I'm sure he's a good person all around, but this is results oriented. If this was his first year I would be way more open to a whole bundle of excuses.
Obviously we aren't privy to all knowledge but based on what I do know, If he keeps his job, I'll be absolutely shocked. If he does keep it, I would hope the leash would be very short.
When a coach doesn't get results and has...
1. A system that stifles creativity, and speed for possession
2. No clue on what to do with players, when AND where to use them.
3. A powerplay that breaks historical records for being so bad.
4. A team that should be and playoffs and isn't even close.
5. A team that gives up 2 goals in a few minutes 20+ times.
6. A d-corp that goes from 203, down to 176, down to 146 points.
7. No or very little adaption with any of the above.
Such a coach should be fired. At the VERY least, his assistants.

Gulutzan didn't seem to have a lot of answers. Not a lot of impressive ones certainly.
We needed to defend better? The coaches needed to bring the team together more?
Barf. Just doesn't seem to admit or have any clue about what really appeared to be the problems.

Gulutzan isn't Maurice. Flames aren't the Jets.

Except the jets didn’t give up the pick they used to select Laine, that’s jets team severely underachieved. Far more than this Flames team, this comparison needs to stop. Jets got absurdly lucky with Laine and other parts to their team. Flames are far different with their own set of problems.

Gulutzan and his coaching staff are clearly sub standard.
Stajan and Brouwer on the PK despite all pk measures indicating they are terrible at it.
Terrible pp, yet keeping gio/Hamilton off the top unit for half the season.
No scoring depth, but instead of juggling the lines a bit and breaking up the 3m line, he was content on swapping Lazar, Hathaway, Stajan on the 4th line to try to spark something.
Brodie/hamonic flat out terrible all season, yet not even trying something different with the d pairings.
It's undefendable. He's not a good coach. If bt can't figure that out, with the hamonic deal, I think it's enough to get rid of him too....
I'd take AV over Gulutzan, no questions asked.

The jets already had Laine. They were a bad team with him last year. I’m not saying it’s a perfect comparison, but it just goes to show you how much can change one year to the next.
The players need to take some of the fall for this season too.

The Jets were 7th in goalscoring last year.
The Flames were 27th in goal scoring this year.
Goaltending and penalty killing improved for them.
How much can goal scoring improve for us under Gully?

Does anyone have an idea how typical player exit interviews go? I imagine it's reviews of individual seasons, what were you happy with, what could you improve on, etc. I can't imagine that a player will throw coaches and teammates under the bus?
However what are the odds that say, Stajan, who in all likelihood won't be back next year, opens up to management about possible problem players in the room, or maybe potential reasons why the players tuned out the coaches (if that is indeed the case) that management is not aware of?

The jets success is partly to great drafting (scheifele, ehlers), a bit of luck (Laine) and picking top ten 7 times in 9 years (2008 to 2016). One of the years they picked outside ten, Kyle connor dropped to them. They've also developed well.
We have Bennett, Monahan and tkachuk from the top ten. Hamilton if you count the trade.
I don't know what the point I'm making is.

lol, that's quite the grudge you have there.
I didn't argue with you. I informed you that you were leaping to a dramatic conclusion that Gaudreau's diet is flawed when you have next to no empirical evidence. You posted a link to an interview where he cracked a joke and some hearsay, but absolutely nothing substantive whatsoever.
You were extremely upset your flawed viewpoint was challenged and as a result seem to still carry a grudge over it.
But that has nothing to do with this thread, so please do feel free to pm me if you'd like to go over it again. I'm sure there's no more "reason" to it now then there was then.
