I don’t get these shots at ownership thst they are cheap.
People claim “the Flames do not retain on trades” “ownership won’t pay for top management staff” etc.
If the Flames were so cheap they wouldn’t have a POHO and would just have Burke or Treliving dealing with King. They wouldn’t have Conroy, and Pascall probably just 1. They likely wouldn’t have Chris Snow.
Just because they didn’t hire Boudreau when Hartley was gored doesn’t mean they won’t pay for the right coach.
For instance give AV a 4-5 year deal and sell the owners that this is the guy. You want a top guy you need to pay but then the team will have stability. AV has had 2 jobs in 12 years with no seasons off.

Hopefully, Treliving will hand him his pink slip tomorrow.
I think Wednesday at the earliest. Treliving will likely conduct his interview, and mull things over with Burke and AGMs before making a final decision.

When asked about his future with the team, Gulutzan says he doesn’t have any thoughts right now. He says “it distracts from the process” of wrapping up the season.
Gulutzan says he’ll sit down with GM Treliving tomorrow to discuss the season. #Flames
Two hernias, a completely rebuilt wrist and still pots 30 goals. No will to win there.
Take your witchhunt elsewhere. Holy smokes thats insane Monny held on like that.
Thats the kind of grit that shortens a career.
Honestly I love that he tried to plug through all of that but Id rather lose the season the way we did while getting Monny out the minute the wrist thing happened.

why did the flames even let him play would be a better question.
Sometimes playing doesn't make an injury worse. If that's the case, it's only a question of whether you are making the team worse by playing. And if you can play through the pain.

Regarding Tkachuk: you don't have to be the captain to be a vocal leader. Also, the captain has to keep it somewhat on the straight and narrow, be political. Having a couple other guys to do the 'bad cop' side of things can be very helpful.
Regarding Smith: I can't understand why there is an issue with his comments... the team was struggling while he was hurt, and he was desperate to come back and make a difference. Didn't work out, but it wasn't from a lack of desire to be a difference maker.
Re concussions: how does announcing injuries help the player at all? It is just fans wanting to know. Not announcing them can be beneficial to the player, so it's a pretty easy decision. Hoping that other players won't target the player is just ignoring human nature, and that is not a good way to make policy.
