Flames Flames draft picks now that the season ended

Lots of conflicting information out there on pick tracking websites as to what conditions are with the traded Flames picks.

To the best of my knowledge this is the status of the Flames picks, based on McKenzie's information on the conditions of the Hamonic and Smith trades.

as far as I can tell there are no compensatory picks coming up in the 2018 draft

2018
Flames 1st - 12th OA pre-lottery. traded to NYI in Hamonic deal
lottery odds (draft lottery is on April 28):
  • 2.5%-1st OA
  • 2.7%-2nd OA
  • 3.0%-3rd OA
  • 78%-12th OA
  • 13.3%-13th OA
  • 0.4%-14th OA

Flames 2nd 43rd OA traded to NYI in Hamonic deal
Flames 3rd 74th OA traded to ARI in Smith deal
Flames 4th 105th OA
Panthers 4th 107th if the Panthers lose in regulation in tomorrow's make up game, 108th if they don't acquired in Hudler trade
Flames 5th 136th OA traded to ARI for re-signing Stone
Flames 6th 167th OA
Flames 7th 198th OA
Detroit 7th will not transfer as conditions were not met

2019
Flames 1st
Flames 2nd traded to NYI in Hamonic deal
Flames 3rd
Flames 4th
Islanders 4th acquired in Hamonic trade
Flames 6th traded to CAR in Lack trade
Flames 7th *
Hurricanes 7th acquired in Lack trade *

* one of these picks have been traded to Ottawa for Nick Shore, no confirmation as to which one

Flames have all their picks for 2020 and beyond

Hoping for Tkachuk to fall to the 4th round here.

Nothing quite like remembering the number of high draft picks that we have to dull the excitement of a 7 - 1 win!

they will get a late first back when they trade Brodie (goodbye) and an early second for Bennett (good riddance). Neither player lived up to the hype in Calgary and should be moved at the draft.

Here's hoping Dallas, St Louis, and Florida win the Draft Lotteries. It would make Vancouver's pick 9th overall, Edmonton's 12th, and the Islanders' pick from Calgary 15th.

The 7th traded in the Shore trade was Calgary's.

Can't believe Treliving traded away half the picks for such "impact players" in Hamonic, Smith, and Stone. Might as well trade the other picks away for garbage pieces and skip the draft altogether. Save some time...

Clearly this was all part of Treliving's master plan to scoop up some pool time while all the other GMs have to actually attend the first day of the draft.

Crafty wizard that one....

I believe they land at least a second round pick in an off season trade and even trade Brouwer with 50% retained for a third (in a dream world a second).

I am glad you are not the GM of the Calgary Flames.

Yes, everyone knows trading assets for nothing is what makes for a championship team.

Why? How exactly do either of those players make the Flames better? Brodie has had 2 years away from Gio and his play has digressed badly, maybe it is the fact Brodie doesn't get to play with Gio anymore. Bennett sucks, period. he played 10 more games than Jankowski, played more with better talent (and yes some ####ty talent also) but does nothing well that you expect from a 4th overall pick. Bennett has had 4 full years around NHL players and has not progressed, hell Sam Gagner outperformed anything Bennett has done with way worse support.

I do not think it means what you think it means.
