I want to see this too but I would rather he sign for another year somewhere else in the East and he wins it there.

Vegas for me, to see a expansion team pull this off would be something to witness.

I don’t like the Ducks by any means but Anaheim is far from the Edmonton of the US. That’s more like Buffalo.

Would he even consider that if he couldn't get a deal from the Sharks? They did let Marleau go, but I wonder if Thornton would have the same conviction about getting the deal he wants. I get the impression that the day the Sharks are no longer willing to offer him a contract is the day he would decide to retire.

I don't think he's comparing cities. He's saying Anaheim is full of ######bags like the Oilers.

Yup, if the Panthers didn't gift them two good forwards we might be talking about a team that barely made the playoffs at best.

#### the Panthers. Sorry Cali.

I dont see the need for them to be in the league. Seems like the exist so the owners can continue to get a sweetheart deal for the rest of his business pertaining to that arena like the revenue from concerts etc...

If they don't make it, I'm going for a team that has never won it or hasn't won it in a very long time. In order of preference:

Minnesota
Winnipeg
Nashville
Columbus
Washington
Toronto
St. Louis
Philadelphia (if only so Elliott can redeem himself a little)

Teams that I will not be cheering for because of recent cup wins:
L.A.
Anaheim
Pittsburgh
Tampa Bay (obviously)
Boston
New Jersey (I don't care about the Hall factor)

Teams that have never won but I can't cheer for because of divisional rivalry:
San Jose
Vegas
I don't think I would call that recent IMO
