For me, it all comes down to if I can resell the games I can’t attend. Tomorrow will be game 12 for me this season, so I have sold 33 games on the NHL Ticket Exchange with all proceedes going to my account. Renewal will only be a couple hundred for me. My tickets are in the first row of the Press Level, so they are affordable and it makes them easier to resell. If I sat closer with much more expensive seats that I couldn’t resell. I wouldn’t renew.

Edited to add: did get Rod Stewart presale...
did you want his body/think he's sexy?

This was my first year as a STH... Somehow managed to see more victories than loses to the 20ish games I went to (12-8 I believe...) Sold the other half and didnt have a problem at all... I mostly sold premium games (TOR MTL, EDM) for $100-150/pair for the PL's and ended up recouping maybe 75% of my STH cost..
Although this year was a disappointment, I am excited for next year already and will be renewing and hopefully improving seat location from PL's for next year.

I have PL's as well (row 13 though). I've noticed sellers low ball the hell out of their tickets on the Exchange platform.. usually for the minimum you are allowed to (my experience for similar seats to mine anyway). I've had better luck on Facebook groups and Kijiji. I am able to offer value with the food coupons as well this way, and they never have a problem picking them up from my mailbox.

I found most of my buyers came back for an additional game or two throughout the year as well (maybe I offer better customer service than CSEC haha)

Lucky. I’m 2-9 this season. I haven’t seen the Flames win in person since early December.

After reading this, I had to check. I have exactly the same record, I've seen 2 regular season wins for my 1/3 season. Still have tonight and the Yotes left. Unreal.

Had a bad dream last night that the reason we haven't received renewal notices is because the team is already sold to Houston and they're just waiting to announce.

Checked and last year renewal notices weren't out until May.

I have 1/4 season tickets and haven't seen a win now in two seasons. Closest I've been was the OT loss to the Kings earlier this year.

Switch something up.. wear a different jersey, buy a burger instead of a hot dog, tuck your jeans into your socks, etc

One thing that’s irks me a bit is I received a lot of invites for some events and experiences. Watch a road game in the Chrysler club with food and refreshments on the Flames. There were a few other invites for neat things.

This year I haven’t heard a peep from an Account Manager on anything pertaining to my experience as a season ticket holder. They seem to have mailed it in just like the team

News flash. When your product sucks (which it has ALL year at the Dome) maybe try and provide some customer service and check in once and a while. Not asking for a ton of freebies but try and have a relationship.

The only benefits I see is guaranteed playoff seats and a couple times in the summer they do the session at the Dome with food/booze and questions with management.
I buy maybe 4 tickets (premium seats) to one game every two years in phoenix. And I get regular personal calls from the team rep. It's unreal how good their front office is, they'd kill it in a market like Calgary with that kind of effort.

I can attest. Those seats are awesome. Keep the legacy alive!

I had Kansas City Chiefs tickets for a while. Customer service and experience was far and above what I get from the Flames. Chiefs would have four times as many accounts as the Flames as well.

I will keep my seats. Greens and Oranges are still easy enough to sell most of the time.
If the team can stay ahead of the playoff snake next year I dont see why that would change.

Two different customers of mine who are also STH have asked me if I plan on renewing. I told them both that I will renew (barring a huge increase). One, who has had tickets for around 6 seasons, told me he isn’t planning on renewing. The other, who has had season tickets since 1991, told me he wasn’t going to renew. He said he is getting older and it’s getting harder to make the drive home from Calgary after a game. Also said he kept them because he enjoys the atmosphere in the playoffs, but that doesn’t seem to happen very frequently anymore.

And if the Flames go out and hire Bill Peters?

Little too early for celebration methinks. They could still screw this up.
