I really would love to hear GG asked who is responsible for the joke of a PP. I’m curious where he sees the problem. Scoring on that early pp could change the entire dynamic of this game but I guess that can be said for 80% of this season. A league average PP most likely puts the flames in 2nd. When you can point at one thing so easily, why is it spoken of so little within the media.

Peter Loubardius questioned Cameron last game at the hotstove. Cameron just said it is all about momentum. Coaches have not shoulder the blames. At least Todd M said he failed.

Can I borrow your alternate universe analyzer? Sometimes it's just about trying to slow down the other teams momentum rather than correct a specific mistake.

I'd be more concerned about that if those draft picks were used on rentals versus actually acquiring pieces for this team that fill real long term needs.

Calgary needs a couple good Russians on the team. We haven't had a top Russian player since Makarov. Russians are leading the NHL these days. Top 2 point scores are Russians. Kucherov and Malkin. Top goals scorers are Russian Ovechkin Top goalie this year is Russian, Andrei Vasilevskiy.

Brodie had one amazing season IMO, which if you actually look at it closely, had many of the same issues we are seeing now, but masked by the one dimension of his game that actually is good.
Brodie has some amazing offensive upside and creativity, but the rest of his game is junk and IMO always has been. I don't disagree, a new coach might get more out of Brodie's offensive game, but also IMO, he's never going to be good enough defensively to be in a true cup contending teams Top 4. I think we are better off moving him.
|
Agreeing with you a lot today. In his big year posters kept saying Brodie was better than Gio, and I just didn't see it. I never thought he'd be a good top pairing guy because he couldn't handle other teams' best players.
These days he doesn't even seem fast to me, and not because GG won't let him skate. He doesn't even skate back on D very fast - he's routinely beaten in foot races with forwards these days.

Oh and by the way Brodie is responsible for exactly one goal against today where he was interfered and our big offseason Hamonic could have done something about. He might have been on the ice for two other goals but they were not on him. You're just being petulant and emotional.

He tried to finesse a ridiculous pass to Bennett that no competent defenseman would ever attempt. You could see two knights players reading it before he even started to pass it. 100% his fault

During the 1st Intermission, coach GG went into the room and coached his team.
Unfortunately for us, it was Gerard Gallant.

This seems like a strange argument. Do you not think some players thrive in different environments? It's obviously no guarantee, but Brodie is a prime candidate to improve in a different environment because this system seems to highlight his weaknesses and prevent him from using his greatest strength, his skating.

he has to say that, because if he told the truth, people would turn off their tv's and I'm thinking his employer wouldn't like that.

Didn't even try it.
Didn't try the d on opposite sides to allow for one timers. Didn't try Brodie on the right side where he's better.
50 games until they tried Hamilton on the pp.

Hard to watch. This team is so good at folding when things get tough.
Is that coaching? The players? IDK how you fix it.

I agree and am going to add no leadership if you will. Except Gio, theres only one guy from this lineup who leads by example in the must-win games and he is 20. When he got hurt, the season was pretty much over. For various reasons, but this one being one of the most important for me.

Gonna be hard listening to Ryan Leslie's comments for the rest of this season.
"Rich, the flames are down by 4 and have one game left to be relevant this season... what's been the best part of this great season?"
