I think you can get a mid to late first rounder for Brodie. I think you have to start there.
So that would mean they have to chase Kane in free agency. There's no way they go into next season with the same situation at RW. Maybe Brodie has to be packaged for a winger.

It was a bad game, I hated a lot of the goals against but Smith has been the MVP. Quite the task in front of them to make it.

Will be interesting to see how they come out next game.

Smith wasn't good tonight. But there were bonehead plays by the d on at least three of those goals.

Yeah.
Man, when you put it like that, i'm even more disappointed and frustrated. ugh.

This is a very hard team to get excited for outside of Johnny and tkachuk. Just a bunch of fragile passengers

That being said, the team is where they are because of their home record and their pathetic PP.
The 3-3 goal was the worst of the bunch. Flames had just scored and had some jump and then an innocent shot from the boards finds a way in.

Flames had a chance to make up for it on the 5 on 3, but failed miserably.

The 4-3 goal was bad coverage down low.

Would have made it 4-2 Flames.

Ugh. I forgot about that one.

Funny thing is that the Western Conference is really mediocre this season. There's only maybe 3 or 4 really good teams. It's hard to fathom that so many individual players from forward to defense to goaltending would have great seasons and the team somehow be collectively bad.

Brodie can leave, can’t run a PP, can’t shoot, isn’t physical, soft, just an awful season for him.

Game over. Season over. Not there was any doubt amongst anyone with a sense of realism or a clue from watching this team all year.

Greg Gilbert 2.0 in fine form again with the horrendous momentum sucking powerplay with Gio, Dougie and Johnny in the wrong spots as usual. And of course why pull a goalie who clearly needs to be pulled? Nah just wait till the game is completely out of reach to do it.

GG 2.0 has had his NHL teams underperform for 288 games now. Quite frankly i don't understand anyone who believes this coaching staff could get this team, or any team for that matter, to play up to it's potential. My kids timbits coaches could do a hella lot better job than the clowns behind the Flames bench.

Also so fitting that Kane torched Hamonic all night. Couldn't get him cuz we wasted all the assets that could have got him on an over-rated #4 dman at best. Great trade Tre.

Another game the Flames coulda, shoulda won but didn't. The bottom line is you don't win in this league without good coaching and goaltending, and Treliving has sabotaged every season he's been here with at least 1 if not both of those areas sucking balls.

But don't worry guys I'm sure VANFLAMESFAN will be around shortly saying everything is fine and the season ain't over so there's that to look forward to!

Why so this team can be cannon fodder for the Knights and go down as the first series win in franchise history to a brand new expansion team?

Oh shoot don’t tell the Flames that they just might do it.

Smith the other two? It may sound like sour grapes but its not like the guy was dominating out there. It was just his night

I still don't think its a good trade for SJ...they aren't a cup contender and are just giving away picks.

The fact it costs them a 1st to keep him when any other team can sign him with no compensation.

Knowing Smith, he will take the blame for the loss. Hopefully a few d men do the same.

Many people want Brodie traded, and I don't necessarily disagree. But I also wonder what would happen if you paired him back up with Gio next season. I'm betting he'd rebound in a big way.

No, more so the Flames don't have the embarrassment of potentially losing a top 3 pick for Travis Hamonic.

And cannon fodder for the Knights?? No. The Knight will be beatable for any team in the playoffs. That defense of theirs has big holes and will be exposed.
