% of odds does not take opponent playing levels into effect, do they?

Our next two games are Ottawa and NYI. Taking a look at the other teams upcoming games, it looks pretty favorable for us. Outside of Minnesota(VAN, EDM) and Colorado(CLB, AZ), everyone has two very tough teams next.
LA: Nashville, St. Louis
ANA: Dallas, St. Louis
SJ: Washington, St. Louis
STL: San Jose, LA

The Flames need to simply keep winning and hope at least one of the other teams doesn't do the same. As you say, they need to take care of their own business.

Dallas is already close to the magic playoff number if they simply play .500 the rest of the way. I wouldn't bet on any team completely collapsing from here on out.
 |
You're right, we do need to leap over a couple other teams. St Louis did lose Bouwemeester and Statsny, so they're not as deep as they were. The Avalanche do scare me a bit. The Stars have a murderers row of opponents and a they play a lot on the road where they play significantly worse.

No room for error at this point. We do need some help, but if Mike Smith is back this week, then there's a clear path to a playoff spot. Those California games will be paramount as well. If we win out, as unlikely as it is, we deserve to be in a playoff position.

I'll be paying close attention to these games, no question. Hopefully no 3 point games and some luck for us. After our rough stretch, we're due.

I see St. Louis is described as a tough team in your post, others describe them as falling apart and playing with a depleted lineup.

They are listed at about a 42% chance of making the playoffs, Calgary is at 20%.

Actually kind of sucks. They're quite a bit ahead of us and they're likely un-catchable so I was hoping they could do us some favors since they're playing a lot of head to heads against the California teams. That's a big loss for them.

Huh? The Wild are only 5 points up on the Flames, they can be caught as they don't have an easy schedule.Quote:
