Last Sunday night seemed about as low as they've been all year. But a good week and some help got them back to be in the playoff conversation.
Still lots of work to be done and very tough work but they didn't lose their shot tonight.
A little help tomorrow from the OOT softens the blow of tonight.
It ain't over. Not even close.

We just had some damn good fortune on the oot the last few days and just took a dump all over it. It's not gonna last. This game was the real shot to get back in there. This damn team lives to dig themselves holes to fall into.

Win the next one and the one after that and it’s a whole new playoff race
Those criticizing lack of finish probably don’t notice that the Isles scored ####ty ass goals tonight. Two point shots find their way in.
The Flames don’t have luck, it’s pretty much the rule.

I promised myself I wouldn't watch another game until GG was fired after that 7-5 loss to the Oilers back in December. That should have been the end of his job. I'm glad I've stuck to my promise. What a waste of a season.

The thing that is so frustrating for me is that it looks like a playoff roster. The underlying numbers suggest the team should be amazing. They outshoot, outchance and out-high-danger-chance the opposition by a lot. That should correlate with success. And yet...MEDIOCRITY. I want goal scorers. Treliving - get forwards with established records of high career sh%. We’ve gotta finish the chances next season.

It sucks to watch a team that can only win games if they get lucky.

To get back in there? They're two points out with a decent chunk of games left. They are in there and are still in there after tonight.
Again, they were never gonna run the table and didn't need to so I don't understand the "playoff are done" narrative.

Serious question.... playoffs or not, GG isn’t coaching this team next year imo. There is a clear issue with preparing for games, adjusting mid game and the PP. What better way to spark a team and put Gelinas down there as interim HC? This team can’t go deep in the playoffs with this system, this coach and this PP so try and make a Cinderella story out of it instead of watching the ship continue to sink

Every team we battle with has 2 games in hand on us. Statistically the Flames the least likely to make it out of Ana, LA, DAL, COL and STL.

Hey, I admire your optimism I really do but the teams they are chasing have games in hand.
The Flames are on their last breaths.

But Anaheim has a game in hand.
LA is a point ahead with 2 games in hand.
And they need to finish ahead of both of them.
You are correct, but the Flames gassed a real chance tonight. And the odds just got a lot harder.

another wasted opportunity, amazing how often that has been said this season. I will watch the next Oilers game but if they lose vs them again I don’t know how much more I can watch this iteration of the Flames.
Changes need to be made even if they miraculously make the playoffs

Could we not have found a way to get the rust off Smith in a practice?
