Gulutzan better find something for a third period comeback tonight. If the Flames have any last chance at the post-season it lives or dies tonight.

The main difference between GG, Sullivan and Torts from the Vancouver trio and why the other two have had success where GG has not despite having the same system is due to personality.

Both Sullivan and Torts are intense personalities that have no problem being PR's when it calls for it.

I've only seen GG get angry in public a few times in 2 years.

I hate that Rogers commercial with the nude beach.

Who is that kid staring at, the fat hairy old dude that just walked by?

Who approved that commercial?

This plus Hartley had the Mr. Nice Guy routine with the media. Too two-faced for my liking. Sutter was a tough coach, but not fake. Same with Badger Bob. Same goes, I think, for other top coaches like Babcock and Hitchcock.

I have tickets to the Blue Jackets game. I just hope they're still in the battle for a spot by then.

So not shorts then....

I know they could easily have another goal. But that seems to be the thing every game. A ton of shorts with little results. A majority of shorts from outside the dots with little chance of scoring.
But that's just how I see it I guess

I don’t have the luxury of instant relay, but #### me does it seem like Flames have so many plays killed because they are passing to guys just standing still. Completely stationary. Scoreboard says 32 shots but none seem dangerous.

I've chosen to not attend many games this year. I also won't attend against the Oilers on Tuesday. Not only will they lose by a wide margin, but they'll also show no character. The latter is what kills me as a fan.

Weird.
Maybe we can get Hartley to coach at home and GG to coach the road games.

Flames are good at losing to teams on long coolers. Philly and soon NYI.

FWIW, the Isles are a way better team than their record. They have plenty of talent. This was a real trap game - they are kind of a fake non-PO team.

When was the last time this team came back from a 3 - 0 deficit? The Ching Dynasty ?

The standards are so low here that gaining a zone on the PP is seen as good PP. Getting a few muffins on net is seen as domination. Unreal.

Whatever the shots are, the score is actually flattering to the Flames. After the 4th goal Smith made a few huge saves. Saves that Gibson hasn't had to make all game. We are getting outplayed big time.

Looking forward to a 20 shot 3rd period so we can talk how we dominated while completely ignoring that the Isles are not even breaking a sweat and have been on cruise control since the end of first period.

This plus the rumours that players weren't even willing to re-sign if they didn't get rid of Hartley tell me it was the right move.

I just miss how hard the players worked with him here though

Part of the reason I hate the ducks is because players like Getzlaf and Perry know how to lead the team and control a game.

Really disheartening watching this team thrash around for the second straight season.

Seeing as the Flames are 19th in GF/GP, I put very little stock in this. We're not talking about a small sample size - it's a season worth of struggling offence. HDSC% also seems to tie in very loosely to actual offensive production. I believe what the stat qualifies as "high danger" to be flawed.

'17/'18:

1. Dallas (17th in GF/GP)
2. Minny (10th in GF/GP)
3. Calgary (19th in GF/GP)

'16/'17:

1. Minny (2nd in GF/GP)
2. LA (25th in GF/GP)
3. Montreal (15th in GF/GP)
