Since then I think Andersson has shown he's out growing the AHL and looked good in a one game stint up with the Flames so I'm guessing they're looking at moving a defenseman in the summer to make room.
But they didn't make it a tough choice in training camp.

This take a job I don't buy. Put your best team on the ice. Use all the years of evaluating these guys instead of deciding who's the best guy because of some 2-3 week stretch against 60% non-NHLers.

In all likelyhood:
Giordano - Hamilton
Kulak/Kylington/Wotherspoon - Hamonic
Kulak/Kylington/Wotherspoon - Andersson
Kulak/Kylington/Wotherspoon
And before anyone says yuck!
Try the defense on leagues 4th best team:
Schmidt(26) - Engelland(35)
Theodore(22) - Miller(24)
Sbisa(27) - McNabb(25)
Hunt(25)
Or check out last years Stanley Cup winners defense minus Letang

That's already inexperienced enough, but we'd be an injury away from absolute disaster.

If a defenseman gets injured tomorrow, who do you think has first crack at drawing in? I believe the organization still believes Bartkowski gives them best chance to win, although you’d think his leash would be short.
Amazing how few injuries there have been on the back end.

Who is the LD on the 2nd pairing if you do that? Kulak is fine as a 3rd pairing defenseman but I think he starts to struggle playing 2nd pairing minutes.

Unless it's from the top pairing I doubt it, if we had an offense that could carry the mail we could loose a bottom four and not feel much of a pinch.

What makes you think that? Brodie has made 3 times the gaffs then any other Dman. Kulak doesn't have the skating or puck movement of Brodie but he's solid on both sides of the puck and I doubt would have the brain-cramps that Brodie has had the last 2 years.
Kylington could take over Brodie's job and we probably wouldn't see a difference. Except of course the cap hit and possible added offense we could have got from a Brodie trade.

That's laughable and absurd. Brodie has proven himself more than capable of eating well over 20 minutes a night for years... Kulak has barely proven he can play 3/5ths of that

I really disagree with you that not one D man should have had a job in September. Andersson was equally as strong as Jankowski all throughout the preseason. At least from my perspective.
Andersson not making the team is NOT on him, thats on the decision makers. Treliving wants to Kenny Holland his prospects. Which is fine when you're talking about a guy like Kylington. But Andersson has worked his ass of to get a shot and veteran bias took it away from him.
Either way, he's on the team next year. they better make room for him.

Hahaha, my goodness.
Man, have you ever watched Kylington? If people think Brodies defensive game has holes, Kylington will make heads explode.

What's laughable is you haven't watched him the last 2 years, by far the worst +/- Dman on the team, He's only capable of screwing up at the worst times lately.

I agree he has holes but considering the return we "could" have got for Brodie to help our brutal offense those holes would probably not mean as much as the screw ups Brodie has had in tight games.

I haven't? Who was wearing #7 when I watched all those games then? Adam Pardy?
You're talking about anecdotes. Hey, Michael Frolik has made some big mistakes too, guess he must be awful

Not to mention Brodie can get you around 40 points a year. Whoever you get in return for him likely isn't that much better than that. Stone 100% isn't happening and Hoffman seems highly unlikely to me as well.

Well of course I'm talking about one of the experienced d-men you've left around. You're proposed defensive line-up is woefully thin, inexperienced, and an injury away from tanking the season.
But maybe we just haven't watched the games like you have.

Wouldn't be surprise to see the Flames try to entice Fox with the same kind of deal that they gave to Johnny where he basically earns a full year's salary by by playing one or two games this year.
not sure if that was a loophole that has been closed, but its a nice bonus right off the bat that helps mitigate the ELC to some degree.

The alternative is to go the Oilers route like with Justin Shultz. How did that work out got them? 2 full years in the AHL for a dman is just good developmentm
