Well not much difference between calgry and Toronto weather last winter and spring.

Yes Calgary had a couple of days of cold weather but was basically the same (even when spring came around)

True Ft. Mac is bad, so is Calgary. Thats like going into a doctors office and him telling me I have one of two diseases, from which i can choose. Cancer or HIV.....either way, they both suck.

I don't think anyone ever said that the earth's core was going to melt the polar ice caps.

You should read up on the subject. It's quite fascinating.

So what is it, does Global Warming make it colder or hotter cause if it makes it colder, its no wonder it doesnt sell well in Alberta

I know what you mean (and I think everyone else here does as well) but either the Global Warming fanboys need to take alook at their numbers or something is amiss because its alot damn colder in Calgary this year as opposed to the last two - I have only lived here for 3.

MYK
So you're using a basis of three years to dispute hundreds of climatologists and experts and scientists? I'm convinced.

I recommend this book The Weather Makers. Gives a run down of global warming and how it effects pretty much everything. In line with Al Gore's movie.

Thing is, it has been known to happen. A couple years ago, the Waterton Lakes area (on the border with Montana) went from -18 to +12 in about three hours.

I've seen all 4 seasons in a day. It was December 8-11 years ago. Woke up as I thought I heard thunder. Then I saw a lightning flash and thunder again. It then started to pour rain. Then it was a blizzard. and 3 hours later, clear blue sky, sunny and in the 12-14C range. It gets exaggerated here quite often that you can "wait 5 minutes" and the weather will change, but this was one particular day that it actually happened that way.

One good thing about a brutal winter is that some people will dislike it so much that they'll move away. Or maybe not even show up in the first place.

i doubt Ontario and i know Calgary has nothing on the Okanagan BC interior weatherwise. i grew up in a small town about 15 minutes south of Vernon and the weather was great. never got temperatures below -20, not a whole lot of snow on the ground to screw up the roads (but you could still take a short drive up to the mountains for supreme snowmobiling conditions), and summer was great, spring was even better

and if you want the chicks in bikinis it didn't get much better than Okanagan Lake, or any of the other numerous lakes in the area. if there was actually decent work available there i'd move back in a heartbeat

Yeah seriously...my parents still live in the Fort and my poor mom and dad are always tellin me how cold it is. I cant imagine. Luckily for them, they're moving to Calgary in the summertime...where its a lil warmer I suppose. I dont know though, going from -40 to -20....I wouldnt be able to notice the difference as either one is just friggin COLD! Isn't it true that anything colder than -20 just all feels the same?

Whats all the talk of cold weather. Its a mild plus 14 here.

It was a toasty 37 in Dubai last week.

The talk of cold weather reminds me of the first time i went to Saskatoon. Flew there and went out that night with the missus wearing a shirt and blazer, jeans and Italian leather shoes without socks. It was -45 and i really thought i was going to die. A local guy looked at me and just said "you are not from round here are you". I looked good though...

A week from now I will be driving around in a desert that will be hotter than 40 degrees each day. I am a little worried.

It is 0 here today. Looking at Environment Canada & The Weather Network, they don't appear to agree about what is going to happen over the next 5 days.

At this time of year in your neck of the woods I much prefer that dry Australian desert heat to what you'd get up in Cairns or Darwin. I was in Darwin and it was like 40 degrees and humidity like you wouldn't belive. I'd go outside for 2 minutes and sweat off all my sunscreen and have to walk back into an air conditioned building for 15. Three days later at Ayers Rock I was able to hike around for two hours in 38 degree heat without any problems.
