Atrocious start, but for the most part solid after that.

If I'm not mistaken coming into this game Gillies is at .910 Jarry 0.911. Where do you think Gillies should be at?

He needs to make more of them consistently....this is the NHL and he has already allowed 2 bad ones of three goals.

Save percentage doesn't mean much if you let in some big softies, especially if they're momentum changers.
See: Elliott, Brian.

I'm pretty sure you know the answer to this if you have read any GT this year.

We know we can score if mobilizing the D. We have the skills, the coach just need to let the players play to their strength. Go Flames !

gillies doesnt look amazing or anything but to me he looks like an acceptable NHL goalie.
Goals go in, but I feel like I've seen fewer of the back breaking stinkers from him than from rittich for example.
He looks like a young goalie but not a 'bad' goalie. Jake Allen looked like a 'bad' goalie, but I don't think that's Gillies.
The team has to rally around this guy. I know he's not exactly a kid but he's a rookie in the toughest position in the game. Give him some love out there.

Up and down like a toilet seat.
Guys can go from the outhouse to the penthouse and right back to the pooper in seconds flat.

Watching the between-period interview Leslie and Shannon. What a contrast in professionalsm vs the Oilers’ Principe et al!

I don't think anyone excepts Gillies to suddenly become Mike Smith. Flames need to be able to win games when their goalie is not standing on his head.
But hey we're still in this, very winnable game.

I like Ryan Leslie because I think he's a class broadcaster, not because he's a flames media broadcaster.
Would like more Leslie to be honest. Not sure what it is but I feel like his demeanor gets something extra out of his interview guests.
Give this guy more airtime.

When Rittich was limited to the work load of a backup, he never let in ANY stinkers. This is what happens when you're forced to play goalies in a starter's role before they're ready. For that reason, I give Gillies and Rittich a pass to a certain extent, but I hope this extended look gives them an awareness of what they need to do to get to the next level. I'm hopeful that either of them will be ready to play in at least a tandem role after Smith's contract is up next year.
Never give up on a young goalie unless they're absolutely terrible...and even then think twice.

For sure, I just meant it in more of a sense of how darn good Leslie is at his job rather than really throwing shade at Millions lol. Millions is infinitely better than Principe.
