I really dont get it. Wasnt Lazar playing some of his best hockey as a flame, and now he sits for tanner glass and stewart.

When does calgaryboy get into town? That's about all I'm interested in these days. See if his good luck can turn these chumps around.

He's 24th in the league in save % for goalies who have played over 20 games. And has been very inconsistent.

That has to be about the worst bottom 6 in the league. Give a pass to Janko cause he is a rookie but the rest of it... yeesh.

There are two absolute boat anchors on each of the bottom two forward lines. There is no wonder why this team is going to miss the playoffs.
That is an absolutely putrid bottom 6.

I'm wondering the same thing, if anything he at least brings speed to that bottom 6.

I don't mind that 4th line to be honest (which isn't a popular opinion).
I do think that Lazar - Stajan - Brouwer is a decent 4th line and I wish that was the one playing tonight. Better offensively, good defensively... not much to complain about with the way those 3 have been playing.
However, now it is a traditional energy/physical line. I don't mind Glass - he hits hard and keeps guys honest out there. That can sometimes give a team a shot in the arm, bring them into the game a bit more. Hathaway belongs on the 4th line IMO. I can't say I hate it.
What I do hate is the 3rd line. Brouwer has been playing better, but to me, he really is only a 'defensive' guy at this point. I am still hopeful that Stewart goes on one of his little mini scoring rampages - if that happens tonight, then great... but he needs to be better along the boards. I don't mind when the puck is on his stick, as I think he makes some really good plays, but the biggest hole in his game from this short sample size of really looking at him is on the forecheck. If I am Gulutzan, I am getting Tkachuk, Ferland and Bennett to do drills against him along the boards and teach this behemoth of a scary dude how to win a board battle (and stay on your feet). I think I just realized why he is underwhelming given his speed, his soft hands and ability to score.
Hopefully the Flames light up the Rangers. These games are such trap games - one team struggling to keep up with the pack and position themselves in the playoffs, but playing a non-conference team that just blew it up. That Rangers team is playing loose and relaxed. Probably young guys hyped up to show their organization that they are ready for the NHL, older vets trying to show the same organization that they are not ready to have their careers end.
At the end of the day, the Flames aren't going to steamroll everyone left. What they do need to do is increase their intensity level and come out for every game as if it was the Stanely Cup final. You want a chance to win that cup, come out mentally prepared and physically engaged to play for it starting NOW.

That's almost 1999/2000 bad for the 4th line.

I stay positive with flames since I had kids, bigger things to worry about. GG has not really irritated me anywhere near the extent of others here, However, WTF is that line up garbage with glass? I'm pissed to be honest.

Glass in the lineup again over Lazar kills me. I can't see the justification for it.
Rangers = not overly physical, especially without Nash and McDonagh, and they are a team built on speed.
Gulutzan's response = take out one of the fastest guys on the team and put in an AHL level enforcer.
WTF?!

I really liked what Glass brought last game. I’d rather they replace Stajan with shore but they want the plug to get his 1000 games. So that won’t happen.

How is Lazar out and Glass in? Stewart should not be on any line higher than the 4th. Not shocked that GG picks Stajan over Shore. Our bottom 6 is garbage and slim pickings but how could he pick the worst of the worst?
Need Ferland and Versteeg back asap.

Agreed on the last part, but are you saying Hathaway should be on the 3rd over Stewart? The only other option would be Lazar there.
Hathaway has 2 goals and 10 points
Lazar has 2 goals and 7 points
Stewart has 9 goals and 13 points
We know that Stewart can at least score a few goals given a chance.
But yes, Ferland and Versteeg back soon please.
