Go ahead and have hope that's great (really) but you are always so keen to point out how things are peachy after a loss. I've lost track of how many times you've said the Flames losing didn't mean anything, was only 1 game. A blip in a long season. All those meaningless blip 1 game losses are why Calgary is in tough to make the post season.

If I take the homer glasses off, it should have been a penalty and was the right call as soon as he gave the 2 headshots. The ref standing over top most likley let it slide given how they engaged each other and the PP count at the time.... I can't argue that it wasn't a penalty but the far ref overstepped his boundaries by overruling a ref just a few feet away clearly watching both of them.

He was way off base about Tkachuk...guy would rather die than lose and took the blame even thought the refs were obviously biased against him

I must be taking crazy pills, the bet has 2 conditions not just the 5 out of 6 thing.

All the teams will have some ebs and flows in the final 20 games. Key is ensuring you don't lose in streaks.

Watched the last couple of Kings and Sharks games. They have both clearly stepped it up a notch and they seem to grasp the magnitude of these last 20 games. The Flames unfortunately look like they have not.
going 70% the rest of the way for the Flames seems almost impossible. For the Kings and Sharks, not so much.

Meh...
Colorado is amazing at home. Tough for any team to win there this season apparently. One of the better home teams this season.
With that being said...
This one was in the bag. Suddenly, the Flames got sloppy and undisciplined, and then they got rattled and then shell-shocked. Rittich could have been a bit sharper, but it was hardly his fault there in the 2nd. Flames just didn't support him.
This is why I am glad that the Flames are having a bunch of games against poor competition - build some damn confidence and composure instead of collapsing. They rebounded a bit in the third, but by then the refs had this one comfortably put away.
You move on and hope for the best next game.
So much for 'Gulutzan just looks down and never argues with the ref!!' comments - bench minors in back-to-back games. Never would have guessed that. I am sure Gulutzan is probably feeling some heat and this is probably part of the reason why. However, I am sure that in the past two seasons he has had some choice words with the refs that we just don't see on TV or notice in the stands.
This is starting to feel like the beginning of the end for the Flames this season. It is great that 'visually' and 'statistically' they are a better team, but they are simply not getting the job done this year. Like Gulutzan or not, but I imagine he simply won't be the Flames' coach next season if they continue faltering down this stretch.
As for 'blow it up!' - couldn't disagree more. This team needs to make some roster adjustments (and in my opinion, a system adjustment to make more use of the highly talented and mobile blue line in place, with even more mobile prospects coming down the pipeline). Whether it is Gulutzan or someone else, they need to incorporate the D more and get this team playing a quicker game.
Also...
If I am Gulutzan, I am having a shooting practice. Maybe the next 3 practices, I am making my guys shoot like crazy - under pressure - and make sure they hit the net or they can go do mountain climbers. Too many missed shots and opportunities.
It isn't a bad team, but it needs more depth. You don't blow up the team just because you need a bit of depth.
Will be interesting how they finish off the season (hopefully well and comfortably in a playoff spot!). Will be interesting to see what happens if they don't. Either way, there is reason enough to keep me watching.

And are you willing to bet home_sweet_dome $100 of your hard-earned money, on the spot right now, that it would happen?

Of course all the blips add up to where they are right now. I understand how it works.
It's the immediate reaction of doom and gloom after a loss that always puzzles me. It's the non stop negative attitude. And I'm not saying it's right or wrong to think my way or your way, it's just baffling to me that being so negative day in and day out is a route people take. I personallywould just get bored of being so angry all the time.
