Effort was there.

So was Ben Bishop.

Poor depth, not enough offensive skill. We have a great top line overall, a great shutdown line, anemic bottom 6.

Treliving said he worried about scoring at the beginning of the year, has tried a few things like Jagr, now Stewart, but clearly something bigger needed - either from within the organization, through a big trade, or probably both.

Bishop won the game for Dallas. Flames had lots of good chances but it wasn't to be tonight. Gillies was good made a couple of mistakes but happy with him overall. I imagine Rittich will start tomorrow night in Colorado hopefully Flames get a win.

Too many shots into Bishop's chest. He made a couple big saves, but we made him look good too... Pick a damn corner.

Why stick with a lineup that won the previous 2 games? New guy to the front of the line.

Default Flames lose 2-0 to Stars

Who knew neutering your only consistent offensive line for 40 minutes with a proven anchor would negatively impact offensive production?

32 wins, 32 losses.

For every good decision this team makes, they choose to respond with a stupid one. They just are what they are, and that’s what Treliving was effectively saying this past week when he was voicing his frustrations.

Not good enough. The team executed the gameplan as well as they could have. They took their low quality shots, they crashed for rebounds. Heck they even got a few high quality shots in. No results.

The effort was there tonight, the results were not sadly.

Massive sigh.

Can't expect goals to come easier when you don't go out and get (legitimate) scoring help. Probably for the best, but still..

Not a very fun season. This team under this system rarely has that magic to push back into a game. Or swagger against rivals. And all has coincided with the coaching change.

That was a good road effort they just couldn’t buy a goal - it happens.

Anybody who comes in here after that effort and blames the coaches or says it was lackluster just wants to complain about this team and doesn’t actually care about the product on the ice.

Won the goalie battle against our backup... we also spent on a starting goalie who has won tonnes of goalie battles this season prior to his injury.

Weird comparison

The thing I liked most about this game was the first 10 minutes. Dallas was good for the first 3 minutes and we came back and played tough. The 5 on 3 kinda deflated us after that. The first line got owned except for one chance by Mony on a backhand. The first line shouldn't be something you mess with, they are our cash cow. Oh well, we'll see what happens tomorrow.

That's the problem with this team and trying to pick corners...they miss the net and it rings around out of the zone. They can't hit the damn net!

This. He made some great saves, too, but not enough finish by the Flames most of the time.
