Our team is no where near Cup contenders so I'm not real upset we didn't buy today. We need changes in the offseason tho, otherwise this team will continue to be mediocre.

It wasn't that long ago the Flames traded for 1st round picks and prospects...that amounted to nothing

They know that they're not going to be a Stanley Cup contender, why not start the rebuild now and tear everything not under 25 off the roster?

What guarantee do you have that any of those 3 picks would be as good? Definitely a bit extra but for the remaining 3.5 years you have to pay to get a guy like Tatar who's only 27.

I would have been careful if I was vegas. So much of what is going on there is due to great chemistry they have.
I haven't had a chance to look at everything but out of the 8 teams the Flames are battling down the stretch.
STL got worse, Dallas stayed the course, Minny pretty much same, LA did their stuff previously (not sold on what they did), Anaheim did nothing major, and Colorado did nothing. Only SJ brought someone in and Kane is a polarizing addition.

because Hamonic is a good player on a good contract and we have him for multiple years (not a rental)
Flames will either make the playoffs or barely miss...the chances of it being a top pick really aren't that high.
One team is winning the cup, the rest are losing...many teams are giving away picks for nothing
