Well who’s the guy with “term” that the Flames are going after?
Hoffman,Domi?
We had better be picking somebody up because this team is not playoff ready.

I was wrong about them getting a first. Crazy price for a rental. I imagine the "conditoons" are about re-signing.

O'Reagan is an AHL star
Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
More details on Evander Kane trade, Sabres get 2019 conditional first-round pick, Dan O'Reagan and a 2020 4th Rd pick

Not looking forward to this narrative in an hour from now if we don't make a move.
While it would be good to add, it wouldn't at the prices we're seeing / hearing.

It'll be fun when San Jose falls from the ledge and gets bounced from the playoffs.

Damn, nice to see O'Regan get out of the Pacific, he shreds the Heat every time they play the Barracuda. He's on the old side but is still an ok prospect imo

Conditional first NEXT year, pretty average prospect and 4th. I don't think thats very steep at all and SJ made out fine

If it's conditional and lottery protected, I wonder if the condition is that it's 2018 if the Sharks make the playoffs and 2019 otherwise?

Glad that the Flames didn't acquire him, but I hate that he is going to SJ. If anyone can get his production going it is Thornton, and I think they have a veteran enough team with big personalities that they can absorb someone like Kane.
Will be interesting to see how he does. Hope it bombs for SJ.

On one hand, I wasn't interested in Kane and especially not at the price the Sharks paid.
On the other hand, a divisional opponent who the Flames are directly competing with got better today.

A 1st round pick is steep no matter what the year. That's major NHL currency

Whew, that's a steep price Sharks paid for Kane. Watch Kane gets offered up in next year's trading deadline. Just happy Flames didn't get him.

not thrilled that SJ got him, but glad calgary did pay that freight either... 1st rounder, top prospect and a 4th? for 19th games?
pass.
hate to say it, but SJ has the locker room to put a guy like Kane in his place... we'll see i guess.
