The post was using Ferland to get Hoffman or Kane, upgrades on Ferland. Stewart would replace Ferland on the 3rd line. I'm not saying Stewart is filling Ferland's shoes, just taking his spot if Ferland is part of a larger deal for a higher profile RW.

At the start of the day I had the Flames' deadline moves as:
1) claiming Stewart
2) moving Stajan to a playoff team for a late round pick at the 11th hour (ala David Jones)

If Stewart could just have a good spring by his standards, I mean even for his own sake being a UFA, then that would be good enough. He clearly has the ability to produce like a top 9, even top 6 forward in spurts. If a 242lb guy can do that for us then it bodes well for a playoff series against a hard-nosed dirtbag team like the Ducks.
Have to think there was a little nudge from Burke to Tre there.

Call Johnny over and then tell him to nod his head a few times and then slowly head for the dressing room during practice.
Take Gio aside, and tell him to look all emotional, and then have him go off the ice.

They only way I see the Flames moving Stajan is if it's to a SERIOUS cup contender.
The guy is a warrior and a good leader, the Flames organization respects him too much too treat him like garbage.
