I think with Stewart, that third line is instantly upgraded.

Bennett-Jankowski-Stewart is a lot better than anyone that the Flames have rotated on that RW spot all season since Jagr got hurt.

Keep in mind our RW depth is thin to begin with and currently features an injured Ferland, injured Versteeg, recently back from injury Frolik, recently back from injury Brouwer, in Czech limbo Jagr, Gaudreau playing on his wrong side, and Hathaway playing too far up the roster.

So, our bottom six just got older, lazier and slower...

Fantastic, Brad. Great ******* job.

Stewart no es beuno.

Anything he gives you offensively he takes back defensively. I pray that he's the new 13th F and not expected to play.

Troy Brouwer (2016 Playoffs)

He's basically done for these guys what Backlund has done for Bouma and Colborne in the past.

Not surprised they picked him up. Not convinced that he is going to be a regular in the lineup. I think he's going to be the 13th forward, which is fine

his 9 goals put him tied for 7th on Flames forward scorers.
got him for nothing, seems alright.

For those of you all who care about things like jersey numbers, Stewart has worn the following ones in his career

10 - taken by Versteeg
7 - taken by Brodie
29 - open (last worn by Engelland)
44 - taken by Bartkowski
80 - open (last worn by, uh.....)
25 - open (last worn by Freddie Hamilton)
42 - open (last worn by Mark Cundari)

Stewart definitely has the skills to find the net, a lot more so than some of our current bottom 6

I doubt he sees playing time and he moves as slow as the speed of smell and the odor isn't that good when you finally smell it.

Sure he is tough ,...is he Chris Simon tough ? Could he contribute like Simon did in 2004? If so maybe he plays .

Hopefully Ferland returns with some fire in his belly.

Good pickup for the Flames. If he isn't performing you send him to the pressbox. No big deal. If he performs, you now have a fully functional third line capable of scoring. No risk, potentially high reward.

No, he really isn't. Hathaway has a non stop motor, he might not score as much as Stewart but he shows up every night to play, not once every 10 games.

Maybe reserve the “he doesn’t give a ####” line until we visibly see him not give a ####.

meh, I'm not a fan, but it didn't cost anything so whatever.

Clearly the prices are too high on this trade deadline. Just stay out of this mess.

I guess the people who diss Stewart would rather have old, slow Iggy or the equally old, slow Jagr, neither of whom is even in game shape?

This place is really going to the dogs.
