Well of course it's not that exciting for you, but look at your location.... No comparison for Pete's sake.

Just a reminder.....

“ Adam Fox had a breakout season with the NTDP U18 squad this year, setting a program record for most points by a defenseman in a single season”

All well and good but if the Flames are getting indications the kid wont sign a deal with them, then they have to trade him.

I haven't been following the story much, but are there indications that he won't sign? I really hope not.

Unless I am mistaken, they do have until August to sign him at any rate. That gives them some time to work out a contract or a trade.

When are the Flames allowed to openly negotiate a contract?

Any time. But he is a student at Harvard University. The probability of him signing before he gets a much valued Harvard degree in whatever, is probably next to none.

It’s actually probably a lot closer to 100 than to zero. Most drafted college players sign if the team wants them

They have until August 2020. There is no urgency to move Fox at all.

Fox is in year 2 out of 4. If we're in June 2019 and he doesn't want to sign, then you move him (like Brandon Hickey last year), but right now there's indeed no urgency at all. And just because he's in Harvard doesn't mean he'll stay for 4 years either.

If there's a good D prospect I'd be okay with moving, then it's Kylington. Hope they keep Andersson, Fox and Valimaki.

Man, the Blues are in a bit of a tailspin. I bet their fans feel right now like we did just a few days ago. perhaps even worse since the central is mount everest.

Janko stayed all four years a providence and signed with Calgary.

With Fox, its simply a matter of keeping the channels open and selling him on the organization, players etc...

if the Flames get the sense that he won't sign, of course they'll trade him... but players actually going the UFA route after finishing college is really quite small...and most haven't done a lot in the nhl

Hartman drawing interest, someone the Flames should definitely be looking into.

Mark Lazerus @MarkLazerus
The Jets, Flyers and Hurricanes have been sniffing around Ryan Hartman. But I get the sense the Blackhawks' asking price is too high.

Mark Lazerus @MarkLazerus
Personally, I don't see why you'd be shopping Hartman. He's young and can be a nice piece of that next core group, a solid third-liner with some power-play upside. And he won't be very expensive after a down year. I'd keep him.
