I know I'm like maybe 2 in 10 cp forum users in this thinking but yes... I would love to see Iginla signed ala Gionta. RW, its Iggy, PP specialist, helps the 4th line with toughness. We've given guys like Tanner Glass reps this season and Grossman last season... it would be fine to give Iggy a shot.

When I said i never said I had a source, I was speaking specifically about the Kane trade.
I happen to know someone very close to the Canucks netminder. That never panned out. What can you do?

I think any hypothetical ROR trade (and any similar trade really) needs:
- not touch Hamilton / Brodie / Giordano
- salary going back (Frolik? Ideally Troy.) and prospects (Mangiapane?) but keep key young roster players (Jankowski/Bennett)
- enough retention to get ROR's cap hit below Monahan's (~6.25M)
- to identify if there is a clear power play opportunity for ROR? That's where a lot of his offense historically comes from. Who do you take off the PP - Does that interfere with the development or usefulness of Ferland/Bennett/Jankowski?
- we are adding a key PKer and faceoff man who can take draws on penalties on unit 1, but we are not necessarily unseating Backlund or Jankowski from their given roles. A Tkachuk-Backlund-ROR shutdown line would be a legitimate possibility.

Much like Taylor Hall. Both guys are talented and have some impressive skills but seem to be cancerous on any team. They just don't have what it takes to win.

Either reach a 1 year high money deal for Kane and then showcase him with Johny and Mony for a flip next year returning twice what we gave up for him
OR
Brad is well aware Anaheim and SJ are in the push for Kane and is just driving the price as high as he can. As a silent part of the Hamonic and Dougie trades, he gets to request that the Bruins and Isles send all of their scouts to make it appear they are also in the watch for certain players.
I trust Tre.... he has made a couple bad moves that had a lot of potential but what GM hasn't. Overall, we have had much more good than bad.
