Dare I say it, but he brings some of the piss and vinegar that line needs to drive them ahead.

Yep, same thing that made Ferland successful at the start of the year and allowed him to get 20g this season. Forget who said it earlier in the thread but rotating people on the first line based on who’s playing good/hot isn’t a bad idea... it seems to work for us

Yup. He also looks energized.
Him and Gaudreau have underrated chemistry.

i like Ferly on the first line... but Bennett has acquitted himself really well...so if these lines stay, maybe these combinations?
Bennett, Monahan and Gaudreau
Tkachuk, Backlund, Frolik
Ferland, Janko, Versteeg
Lazar Stajan hathaway
i think Versteeg is a bit under rated, though his injury may or may not have slowed him down..
edit forgot brouwer... oh well

Just got to sit down to the game. So glad to hear Bennett is finally on that top line and Hamilton is on the #1 PP. I think Ferland will do much better in a 3rd line role where he can go full throttle every shift, and Bennett will still have that edge that the first line needs but a higher skill level than Ferland can bring. Hope this lasts more than one game.

Another good period! Just hopping in again to point out our PP stats:
10/38 in February. 26%, good for 8th in the league over that stretch.
7/16 in our last 5 = 44%

Missed most of the game due to work but looks like the lines in a bit of blender. About bloody time! How has Gillies been?

Gillies was nervous to start, but the fella sure was calm that period.
I really like Gillies. I think his size and athletic ability will translate to the NHL quite well. I still think he’s our starter after Mike Smith, and will then be challenged by Tyler Parsons.
