I thought the point was about Brouwer. I agree he took too long to put Hamilton there. I do think, however, there's a generally, there's a place between GG being too patient with players and giving a strategy time to take hold, and the CP "change things up now" approach.
Like I said, I would have tried Hamilton in the first unit earlier, but I think GG was trying to keep a decent second unit together as well. Last night, you saw that he had to go with his first unit for almost the whole powerplay because his second unit is so much weaker now.

So....does GG play Bartkowski & Lomberg tonight (since, I assume their Moms are there)?

Nope, sounds like Gillies is the only change.
Big game for Gillies. He was damn good in his start last season, and with Rittich on the ropes a bit here, Gillies performing well could be huge for him (and me, I'm a big Gillies fan - I think his game is better suited for the NHL than Rittich's).

Big (huge?) game for the Flames -- even bigger for Gillies. Hope he can knock it out of the park -- I have a sneaking suspicion we may need both guys playing well until Smith gets back...

Would be massive for Gillies to put in his bid here for some NHL work. For both him and the team. Showing the ability to handle being given the reigns is also a sign of possessing future starter qualities.

As a starter last year he looked great against the Kings though they had thrown in the towel at that point. This will be a good test for him.

Gillies has all the makings of a top flight goalie, but he's still a rookie and there are likely to be a few soft goals tonight. Flames need to give him some run support. None of this one and done, prevent defense stuff. Yeah they need the points, but play for the win, not to lose. And other cliches I guess.

Brad Treliving's update on Mike Smith was that the #Flames starting netminder did not skate this road trip. He is still day-to-day and "they'll know more" when he gets back to Calgary and settled. Still no timetable on his return.

Am I the only one that thinks that we could be a better team if GG just simply switched the lines a little? I think we've gotta get some different line combos to get this team going again. You've got to demote players when they are not playing up to par, like Ferland for example. I just feel like GG could be a lot better in that regard.

You're assuming GG is capable of admitting mistakes or rational thought. Time and time again he has proven that he'd rather not make any changes.

Plot twist: Raanta is traded for Gillies. They just switch locker rooms. We'll just light up Gillies.
As for GG, he's done it before. He actually knows how to make changes on the fly and has been successful at it. We've scored quite a few times when he has done that. He just doesn't do it frequently.

I just assumed they changed the slogan for this season part way through.
The 2017-2018 Flames - "We just weren't ready to play"
